Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Concordia Place nursing units and administration department.
Experience
Minimum two years of previous experience working in a clinic, medical office, health‑care environment, or in a similar or directly related position.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized medical office assistant course or equivalent required.
- Medical terminology knowledge required.
Certification / Licensure / Registration

Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with the minimum data set (MDS) application preferred.
- Proficiency with online requisitioning program, e.g., ORMED supply chain, preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word, MDS, ORMED, Outlook.
- Ability to maintain statistical data, MDS records, order supplies via ORMED supply chain and initiate other computer reports, and use a digital camera.
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi‑faced team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑traffic area with frequent interruptions.
- Discreet and confidential in all facility and resident related matters.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, community service agencies, and the public.
- Ability to handle a diverse workload and function with limited guidance, supervision and monitoring.

Additional Information
This indefinite term may expire subject to one (1) week’s notice.
The position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
