Apprentice Baker / Pastry Chef (1st, 2nd or 3rd Year)
Merlo Coffee is looking for a passionate apprentice to join our artisan bakery at Bowen Hills – Milano Bakehouse. Whether you’re just starting out or partway through your apprenticeship, this is your chance to learn hands‑on from industry leaders in a state‑of‑the‑art bakery kitchen.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working alongside our world class, experienced bakers and pastry chefs to prepare a range of products from scratch
- Learning the foundations of artisan baking and French‑style pastry
- Developing skills in mixing, shaping, proofing, baking and finishing
- Maintaining a clean and organised workstation
- Following food safety and hygiene best practices
- Getting stuck into daily production and growing your confidence each day
What We’re Looking For:
- Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a love for all things baked
- A strong work ethic,
willingness and commitment to learn
- Great communication and a team‑first attitude
- Enrolled (or ready to enrol) in a Certificate III in Baking or Patisserie
- Previous kitchen or bakery experience is a benefit
- Ability to complete early morning starts (2‑3am)
- Own method of reliable transport to get to and from work
