What you will do


- Read, review, analyze and interpret contractual and regulatory compliance requirements and assess how it applies to AGIA's business, which includes: AGIA, the carrier, the client and the insured. Applicable requirements will be summarized and routed to management for review. The summary will alert senior management of potential risks and penalties to ensure the company meets its federal, state and contractual legal obligations. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing policies/processes to comply with applicable requirements.

- Implement the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ACT (HIPAA) compliance initiatives.

- Ensure data security regulations are being followed. Coordinate AGIA's annual attestation of compliance to the Payment Card Industry (PCI-DSS) requirements.Identify compliance gaps.Coordinate and manage remediation projects.

- Uphold guidelines for segregation of duties for user's access to confidential data stored on AGIA systems. 

- Maintain the company's security incident policy.

- Work closely with AGIA's IT area to establish best practices for Security Administration.

- Conduct periodic audits to provide oversight of the established policy and processes.

- Ensure processes comply with federal, state, and carrier guidelines. Follow up with the appropriate party as needed for clarification.

- Assist Compliance Coordinator to analyze carrier compliance bulletins and determine if and how they apply to AGIA's business and to the appropriate departments.

- Cross train with team members on audit, licensing and business continuity planning.

What you need:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

- Three years of compliance or related experience

- Minimum five years office experience required, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry

- Data confidentiality and security best practices

- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office

- Independently coordinate/lead projects

- Strong presentation skills

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and changing priorities

- Strong time management and project management skills

- Establish and maintain internal and external business relationships

- Detailed analysis and critical thinking
