Accounting Advisor - Argentina

What’s the role?

The Accounting Advisor will serve as the onshore Finance focal point for statutory accounting, local entity compliance, and external audits in Argentina. The role plays a critical part in a team safeguarding Shell's license to operate by ensuring compliance with local regulations, IFRS requirements, and Shell's control framework.

Working closely with Business Finance, Tax, Finance Operations, Joint Venture partners, and external stakeholders, the position provides technical accounting expertise, supports statutory reporting, and drives strong financial stewardship across Shell Argentina entities.

Key Accountabilities

- Support statutory reporting and local compliance activities for Shell Argentina entities.
- Provide technical accounting advice on complex business transactions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Host external audits and support Joint Venture audit activities.
- Monitor regulatory and accounting changes, assessing impacts and advising stakeholders accordingly.
- Support governance and compliance of Joint Venture Accounting Procedures and partner reporting requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls, balance sheet integrity, and working capital transparency.
- Drive simplification, continuous improvement, and finance transformation initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

- Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).




- Strong accounting and reporting background, including IFRS and Argentina GAAP.
- Experience working with external auditors and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions.
- Ability to manage peaks of workload and tight timelines, prioritize and ensure high-standard delivery
- Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written).
- Experience in Financial Statement preparation, Joint Venture Accounting, Joint Operating Agreements, and cost recovery frameworks is considered a strong advantage.

Businesses: Upstream (Unconventionals) / DS (Chemicals / Lubes / Trading)

9 Joint Ventures (4 Operated and 5 Non-Operated) across the Neuquen and NOA basins.
