In this role, the PD&P Piping designer will be responsible for developing and coordinating multidisciplinary 3D plant models, piping layouts in accordance with project requirements and instructions provided by the Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS). The position requires a strong technical background in piping design and demonstrated proficiency in 3D plant design software, preferably Smart 3D (S3D).
The designer will collaborate closely with other designers and engineers, to ensure the technical integrity, constructability, and coordination of the design, while complying with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and established design criteria.
The position requires the ability to independently execute assigned design activities with minimal supervision, exercise sound technical judgment within the scope of the discipline and provide technical support to other designers as required. The level of responsibility, complexity of assignments, and degree of autonomy will be consistent with the designer's grade,
experience, and demonstrated capabilities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintains 3D piping layouts models using Smart 3D design software, (S3D).
- Preparing drawings/documents such as General Arrangements, Elevations and piping isometrics drawings.
- Extracting, preparing, and updating 2D drawings from the 3D model, including piping plans, elevations, sections, orthographic drawings, and piping isometrics, as applicable.
- Assisting with coordination of the 3D model activities, i.e., input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
- Coordinating and interfacing as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers & designers

Coordinating with other disciplines, produces accurate models and drawings, and seek guidance when addressing complex technical issues or nonstandard design situations.
Grade 26: Performing more complex piping design assignments with a higher degree of autonomy. Taking greater responsibility for the quality and coordination of assigned model areas or systems, proactively identify and resolve design interferences, support design reviews, and provide technical guidance to less experienced designers. Coordinating more complex interfaces and escalate issues requiring engineering decisions or changes to established design criteria.
