Compliance Services RepresentativeDepartment: Compliance ServicesPosition OverviewThe Compliance Services Representative is responsible for managing day-to-day client tax compliance needs.
As a trusted resource and extension of our client's tax compliance environment, this role performs tasks such as data imports and reconciliation, management of regulatory tax deadlines, and provides problem resolution to complex problems.With a strong understanding of project management and experience in client services, accounting and reconciliation, the Services Representative will act as a collaborative and consultative partner.Note: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Job ResponsibilitiesDeliver client services utilizing Sovos' Tax Information Reporting *****), Affordable Care Act, Sales and Use Tax Reporting, FATCA, Unclaimed Property, and/or Certificate Management softwareEnsure compliance with applicable taxing authorities (IRS, State and Local Governments) and client-specified procedures by adhering to internal policies and proceduresIdentify, prioritize, and resolve client issues; coordinate appropriate internal departments to provide timely response and solutionsProvide assistance to Compliance Services Associates in building domain expertise and resolving client issuesMaintain goals and key measures to ensure progress and alignment with desired business outcomes for clientsIdentify process improvements and offer suggestions to build internal efficiencies and reduce risk and lead internal process improvement projectsFoster continuous improvement efforts; offer ideas and feedback to generate new and innovative ideas for ongoing Company improvements and enhancementsAssist management team in tracking team activities to ensure timely and accurate completionEnsures internal policies and procedures are adhered to based on established guidelinesSupport team members in their ongoing training and development by leading training sessions, creating training materials, and providing daily mentoringPerform other duties and special projects as assignedOrganizational AlignmentReports to Compliance Services SupervisorThis position has no direct supervisory reportsQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent related work experienceMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in a client support / services capacityMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in Tax Information Reporting *****), Affordable Care Act Reporting, Sales and Use Tax Reporting, FATCA, Unclaimed Property, and/or Exemption Certificate ManagementExcellent time management, decision making, and organizational skillsDetail oriented and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal and professional communication skillsEssential Job FunctionsInteract effectively with teammates, colleagues and customersComprehend and communicate complex conceptsConcentrate, analyze and resolve complex problemsUtilize technology (e.g. phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirementsEnvironmental Job Requirements and Working ConditionsUtilize technology (e.g., phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirementsCompany BackgroundSovos was built to solve the complexities of the digital transformation of tax, with complete, connected offerings for tax determination, continuous transaction control compliance, tax reporting and more.
