About us
Edge Operations Managers places Operations Managers with owners of U.
S. construction, roofing, public adjusting, and home and trade services companies. We install and run a business operating system so owners get a real number two, not admin support. This is an internal role on the Edge team, not a client placement.
About the role
As a Business Operations Coach, you guide each Operations Manager from training to a strong placement with a client. Before placement: Every OM starts in pre-placement training, and you own it. You track their daily deliverables and final presentation, get to know their strengths and gaps, and decide who's ready. You also help match each ready OM with the client where they'll do best. After placement: You coach the OM through the install sprints. You meet them every two weeks, and the owner joins the Playbooks (week 4), Scorecards (week 8), Financial Reporting (week 12), and Post-Install check-ins. You coach from the company scorecard, dashboard, and financials. If an OM isn't meeting expectations, you name it clearly, set a short deadline, and escalate to leadership if nothing improves.
What you'll do
• At onboarding, learn the business and its constraints firsthand, and hand the owner and Ops Manager the Biweekly Owner Checkpoint Scorecard
• Run the check-ins the owner joins during the 18-week install (Playbooks, Scorecards, Financial Reporting, and Post-Install), then one check-in a month after install
• Keep every owner meeting to three things: the constraint, priorities, and actions; approving or editing EDGEos components; and the Ops Manager's decision rights
• Advise owners of companies, using their own scorecard and financial reporting
• Advise, don't execute: tasks the owner hands you go to the Ops Manager, and you don't build their artifacts, manage their team, or make their decisions
What you'll do
• Oversee pre-placement training: track each OM's daily deliverables and final presentation, and hold the gate so only ready OMs get placed
• Review each OM's checkpoint scorecard, workflows, playbooks, and company scorecard every two weeks
• Coach OMs on running their team: inspecting the work, holding people to the scorecard, and turning a missed number into a plan with dates
• Lead OM pod sessions and trainings
• Make the call when an OM isn't working out, and bring it to leadership
• Audit scorecards and dashboards, and flag patterns that should change training or placement What you bring
• 2+ years leading people or running operations (operations lead, team lead, account manager, or consultant) where you owned results, not just tasks
• Business sense: you can read a P&L; and talk comfortably about margin, close rate, pipeline, and cost of acquisition
• You've had a hard conversation with someone who wasn't performing, and followed through on it
• Comfort advising U.
S. small-business owners directly, including pushing back
• Strong spoken and written English; fully remote. Nice to have
• Construction, roofing, public adjusting, home services, or field-service background
• Experience as a consultant, account manager, or fractional operator This isn't the role if
• Your experience is mainly assistant, analyst, or individual-contributor operations work
• You'd rather support people than hold them to a standard
• You've never had to make a hard call about someone on your team
