Join an industry-leading engagement supporting a major Tier-1 North American Telecommunications client. In this role, you will be a vital gatekeeper of revenue integrity, operational quality, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that billing cycles, rating engines, and system releases adhere to the highest industry standards
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Billing QA & Audit Specialist with deep expertise in Telecom Billing Operations, QA validation, and SOX governance. You will be responsible for conducting build-cycle audits, designing end-to-end testing scenarios, verifying rating engines, and generating mandatory audit artifacts for SOX controls prior to every billing cycle release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit & SOX Governance: Perform comprehensive build-cycle audits and deliver required documentation and evidence for SOX controls across each billing cycle, guaranteeing compliance with change management, access authorization, audit logging, and ISO/SOX governance standards.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Design detailed QA test cases, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and execute pre-deployment smoke tests (including negative checks) to validate new code builds, hotfixes, and change requests.
- Data & System Verification: Write and run complex SQL queries, Unix/Linux shell scripts, and automated validation tools to audit rating engines, inspect server logs, and verify raw invoice outputs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with billing operations, development, infrastructure, service delivery, and external/internal audit teams to conduct operational reviews and ensure audit readiness.
- Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis: Triage, track, and remediate billing anomalies and critical operational incidents before they impact customer invoicing or revenue assurance metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Telecom Billing & Rating Engines: Proven hands-on experience in telecommunications billing operations, bill cycle runs, rating engine validation, and raw invoice analysis (e.g., Amdocs, Netcracker, Oracle BRM, or proprietary telco billing systems).
- Compliance & Audit: Solid understanding of SOX controls, change management workflows, audit trails, and data governance in financial/billing operations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, reconciliation, and validation across relational databases.
- Practical knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and basic shell scripting for log analysis and task execution.
- QA & Testing Expertise: Experience creating test scenarios, running UAT, smoke testing, and regression suites for release validation.
- Incident & Cycle Management: Strong background handling billing incident management and critical cycle timelines under tight SLAs.
- Communication: Upper-intermediate to advanced English skills (verbal and written) for direct interaction with North American stakeholders.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Direct experience working with Amdocs billing suites or Tier-1 US telco operations (e.g., T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T;).
- Exposure to test automation frameworks or automated reconciliation tools.
- Familiarity with Revenue Assurance concepts and ISO standards.
