Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.
The Regional Pricing & Procurement Specialist supports the commercial and infrastructure foundation of Crane Worldwide Logistics' air freight product across the Middle East, Africa & India (MEAI). This is a dual-focus role: on the commercial side, the incumbent prepares pricing, supports carrier and capacity procurement, and maintains rate and tender data; on the infrastructure side, the incumbent helps map and maintain the region's network of gateways, trucking, and handling partners, flagging gaps for more senior colleagues to act on. The role is a hands‑on entry point into MEAI air freight commercial operations, working closely with and reporting into more senior pricing, procurement, and network leads.
Essential Job Function :
Commercial – Pricing & Procurement
- Prepare air freight pricing for MEAI trade lanes using Crane's markup-on-cost methodology, under guidance from Regional product team.
- Support carrier and capacity procurement activity — gathering quotes, tracking spot/contract rates, and helping prepare BSA (Block Space Agreement) proposals for senior review.
- Build and maintain rate cards and first‑draft tender responses, incorporating trucking, handling, and DG surcharges into cost‑to‑serve calculations.
- Track capacity, yield, and rate movements across MEAI gateways and flag notable shifts to the pricing/procurement lead.
- Assist sales and key account management with data and rate inputs for RFQ/tender responses.
- Maintain procurement tracking data (cost savings, carrier scorecards)
and prepare regular reporting for the team.
Infrastructure & Network Support
- Help maintain and update the regional network map of gateways, trucking corridors, GHA/warehouse partners, and transshipment routings.
- Support gap analysis on infrastructure constraints — customs bottlenecks, cool‑chain/perishables handling capability, DG‑certified facilities (UN3480/3481 lithium battery and other dangerous goods classes), and OOG (out‑of‑gauge) handling — escalating findings to senior colleagues.
- Assist with research and initial vetting of local partners (GSAs, trucking companies, handling agents) in secondary and tertiary markets.
- Help gather and organize charter/ad hoc capacity options when scheduled capacity is insufficient, for review by senior team members.
- Coordinate with operations to track how infrastructure and partner choices are affecting transit times and service levels.
- Keep the regional infrastructure scorecard current for leadership review.
Cross‑Functional Support
- Build working knowledge of MEAI air freight market dynamics — capacity cycles, perishables seasonality, and regulatory/customs environments.
- Work closely with the Regional Manager and wider EMEIA air product team, contributing regional data and insights.
- Support process and tool standardization efforts within the EMEIA air product function as directed.
Experience
- 2–4 years in international air freight, freight forwarding, or logistics, ideally with some exposure to pricing, procurement, or carrier coordination; MEAI market exposure a plus.
- Basic familiarity with capacity instruments such as BSAs
- Working awareness of DG classifications (including UN3480/3481), cool‑chain handling, and OOG cargo —
- Comfort working with cost and rate data, including multi‑currency (USD/EUR/GBP and regional currency) calculations.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong Excel/data‑handling skills and attention to detail with pricing and rate information.
- Comfortable operating with limited structure in an early‑stage, fast‑growing organization; proactive about asking questions and flagging issues.
- Good communication skills for coordinating across sales, operations, and carrier/partner contacts.
- Willingness to travel periodically within the Middle East, Africa & India as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accuracy and turnaround time of pricing and tender support work.
- Quality and currency of procurement and network tracking data.
- Contribution to carrier procurement cost savings and rate‑card maintenance.
- Timeliness of escalations on infrastructure gaps and service issues.
