We're Hiring: Senior Python Backend Developer (Django/FastAPI)

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Python Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team

The idóneo candidate has strong hands-on experience with Python, Django and FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and production API development , along with practical experience using AI coding assistants to improve software development workflows.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable applications, and taking ownership of meaningful engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Python, Django, and FastAPI .
- Design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs and backend services .
- Work with PostgreSQL, relational databases, and ORM frameworks .
- Contribute to backend architecture, performance optimization, and technical decisions.
- Support cloud infrastructure and deployments using Railway and AWS .
- Implement best practices for Git, CI/CD, testing, and code reviews .
- Leverage AI coding assistants to improve development efficiency while ensuring code quality and security.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Help establish engineering standards, mentor developers,



and improve AI-assisted development workflows.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional experience developing backend web applications using Python.
- Strong production experience with Django and/or FastAPI .
- Professional experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases .
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining production APIs .
- Hands-on professional experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of Git, CI/CD, testing, and backend development best practices .
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a remote engineering team.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience with both Django and FastAPI .
- Knowledge of AWS, Railway, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud architecture .
- Experience with microservices, asynchronous processing, and event-driven systems .
- Familiarity with SQLAlchemy, API scalability, and performance optimization .
- Experience building AI agents, reusable prompts, internal AI tools, or automated development workflows .
- Background in SaaS, travel technology, or complex backend systems .
