An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Integration Engineer to join our talented team.
About you
We’re looking for a technically curious and solutions-focused Integration Engineer who enjoys working with APIs, scripting, and data to solve problems and help different systems work together.
You’ll play an important role in delivering integrations and data migrations that support our customer implementations. Working closely with our Delivery team and receiving technical guidance from our Integration Lead, you'll help build, configure, test, and troubleshoot integrations that allow ecoPortal to connect seamlessly with other systems.
Your work will involve a mix of API integrations, scripting, data migration, troubleshooting, and technical support. Some tasks will involve building or configuring new integrations, while others will focus on investigating issues, validating data, or improving existing processes.
You don't need to have encountered every integration challenge before, but you should have a solid technical foundation,
be comfortable working with code and data, and enjoy figuring out how things work.
You'll be someone who approaches problems logically, pays attention to detail, and takes ownership of your work. You'll also enjoy collaborating with others, learning new technologies, and finding ways to make technical processes more reliable and efficient.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in software development, systems integration, technical delivery, or a similar technical role.
- A good working understanding of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and Python, with the ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and work with existing code.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, including working with data, queries, and database structures.
- Practical experience working with APIs, including REST APIs, API requests and responses, authentication, and troubleshooting integration issues.
- Experience writing, maintaining, or modifying scripts to automate tasks, process data, or support system integrations.
- An understanding of how different software applications communicate and exchange data.
- Familiarity with JSON and common data formats used in APIs and system integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and work through potential solutions.
- An understanding of data handling, including extraction, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting data inconsistencies.
- The ability to test and validate technical solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and expected functionality.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when working with data, configurations, and technical documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage assigned tasks, communicate progress, and raise blockers when needed.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- A collaborative, proactive, and hands-on approach, with a willingness to learn from more experienced team members.
- A genuine interest in developing your technical expertise and contributing to successful customer outcomes.
It would also be great if you have:
- Experience working with SaaS platforms or customer-facing software integrations.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, SCIM, or other API-based integration technologies.
- Exposure to identity management, user provisioning, SSO, or access permissions.
- Experience supporting data migration activities, including data mapping, reconciliation, and validation.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Experience working with Git or other version control tools.
- Exposure to integration automation, reusable scripts, or technical workflow improvements.
- Experience working in health, safety, risk, or compliance software environments.
We have some exciting integration challenges to solve, and your ability to combine technical problem-solving with a practical, detail-oriented approach will be key to your success.
If you enjoy working with code, APIs, and data, are curious about how different systems connect, and want to continue developing your skills in a supportive technical environment, we'd love to hear from you.
