The Town of Lunenburg is seeking qualified applicants for Heavy Equipment Operator.
This is an opportunity to put your equipment operating and road maintenance skills to work in a municipal setting, supporting the roads, infrastructure, and public services that keep our community running.
Job Duties
Operate a wide variety of vehicles including trucks, plows, tractors, backhoes, front end loaders and similar equipment, using power-driven and hand tools, plowing, minor service maintenance to vehicles, excavation, tree work.
Must be available to perform work outside of normal work hours, especially during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent;




Three or more years' experience operating heavy equipment and trucks in construction or road maintenance;
Thorough knowledge of Class B CDL vehicles and heavy equipment operation;
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience;
Prior Public works experience, preferred;
Residency within 30 minutes of the DPW building, preferred.
Requirements
Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL);
Class 2B Hoisting Engineers License;
Or be able to obtain both within six months of hire.
Applicants who already hold both required licenses will receive first preference.
Hours & Pay
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), benefited position, Grade 2 Teamsters union Local 170 DPW union position.
Pay Range: $/hr - $/hr DOEQ.
