We're a Latin American technology company with a people-first culture, strong engineering standards, and a collaborative approach. Our teams work on challenging projects where technology, innovation, and business impact come together.

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in OpenTelemetry and cloud observability to join an international fintech project. You'll play a key role in migrating application and infrastructure telemetry from New Relic to an OpenTelemetry (OTel) Collector-based architecture, helping modernize how a high-scale platform monitors its distributed systems. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on application instrumentation, telemetry pipelines, debugging, and migration validation. We're looking for an engineer who can work directly with application code and observability infrastructure, not just monitor dashboards or manage alerting tools. What You'll Be Doing
• Migrate application instrumentation and telemetry configurations from New Relic to OpenTelemetry.
• Implement and validate distributed tracing, metrics, and log collection across applications and services.
• Configure and troubleshoot OpenTelemetry Collectors, exporters, and telemetry pipelines.

• Update YAML/JSON configurations, environment variables, and deployment manifests.
• Analyze telemetry gaps between New Relic and OpenTelemetry to ensure monitoring continuity.
• Write and execute tests to validate accurate telemetry collection, transformation, and export.
• Investigate missing traces, incorrect attributes, export failures, and instrumentation issues.
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and migration risks.
• Update observability documentation, dashboards, migration checklists, and troubleshooting runbooks. What You Bring
• Senior-level software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in at least one language: Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, including application instrumentation, distributed tracing, metrics, and logs.
• Experience configuring, integrating, or troubleshooting OpenTelemetry Collectors and telemetry pipelines.
• Strong understanding of cloud observability, distributed systems, and monitoring architectures.
• Familiarity with New Relic, including application monitoring, tracing, and telemetry configurations.
• Ability to analyze and modify application code, YAML/JSON manifests,

and environment-based configurations.
• Strong debugging, testing, and troubleshooting skills across applications and infrastructure.
• Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Advanced English communication skills (C1). Nice to Have
• Previous experience migrating observability platforms, particularly from New Relic to OpenTelemetry.
• Experience deploying or operating OTel Collectors in Kubernetes or Docker environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with observability backends such as Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, or similar tools.
• Understanding of telemetry sampling, cardinality, ingestion costs, and observability-related FinOps practices. What Success Looks Like
• Applications successfully instrumented and connected to OpenTelemetry pipelines.
• Reliable end-to-end delivery of traces, metrics, and logs to the designated backends.
• Critical monitoring coverage maintained throughout the migration.
• Validated configurations, automated tests, and properly reviewed pull requests.
• Clear documentation and operational runbooks supporting the new architecture. What Darwoft Offers
• Contractor agreement with payment in USD.
• 100% remote work.
• Argentina's public holidays.
• English classes.
• Referral program.
• Access to learning platforms.
• Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact observability modernization project within an international fintech environment. Explore this and other opportunities at: https://www.darwoft.com/careers/1038
