The **Chemical Specialist** is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing chemical treatment and corrosion control programs that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
This role provides technical expertise in production chemistry, corrosion management, facility treatment systems, and process optimization while working closely with operations, laboratories, and service providers to improve performance and reduce operating costs.
**Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:**Design, manage, and implement chemical treatment and corrosion control strategies, including chemical treatment, corrosion monitoring and inspection activities, as well as the preparation and delivery of reports and the identification and assessment of significant trends.Provide technical assessment and interpretation of chemical treatment monitoring data and recommend changes to corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programs (chemical treatment, reservoir souring, corrosion, materials, coating applications, and cathodic protection).
Utilize NACE, EPTC, API, ASTM, AISI, AWS, SSCP, and other Oil & Gas industry standards.Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for water, oil, and gas treatment facilities and chemical treatment services in El Trapial Field to improve Operational Excellence (OE), production, reliability, efficiency, and cost performance.Follow up on contractor performance through daily field visits and maintain ongoing interaction with Operations & Maintenance (O&M;), Laboratory, and chemical service provider personnel.Lead OExcellent communication skills;Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, simple, and customer-friendly manner;Familiarity with AWS or another cloud provider, including logs, services,



and secrets;Experience with Sentry or similar error-tracking tools and Grafana or similar monitoring tools;Strong written communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly;Strong analytical thinking and research skills;Ability to identify when an escalation to the Engineering team is required;Positive, proactive and responsible attitude;Personal computer (at least 8Gb of RAM) with a stable internet connection (minimum 45 Mbps–download and 20 Mbps–upload).
