Job Title: Social Content Marketer
Contractor Fee: $2,500-$3,500/month (USD)
Work Arrangement: Remote
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Commitment: Full-time (Approx. 40 hours/week)
Company Overview:
Tidal is a Direct Placement Agency that helps job seekers find job opportunities for real growth. We work with stable, responsible businesses that are experienced in remote hiring and are excited to welcome international team members. Tidal is owned and operated by consumer brand owners and operators. We have experience in offshore team-building and aim to help businesses leverage integral talent.
About This Role:
We're hiring a Social Content Marketer for an eCommerce-focused media brand and show who lives and breathes LinkedIn and X. You'll turn interviews, video clips, and industry insights into engaging social posts and a daily newsletter while independently researching trends and bringing fresh ideas to the team. The ideal candidate combines strong writing and editorial judgment with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to move work forward without detailed briefs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own daily social content production: Write and publish approximately 15 posts per day across LinkedIn and X, adapting hooks, structure, and tone to each platform.
- Bring original ideas to the table: Proactively suggest topics, post concepts, conversation starters, and newsletter angles based on your research and understanding of the audience.
- Stay close to the conversation: Independently follow relevant eCommerce and DTC founders, operators, creators, industry news, and emerging discussions to identify timely content opportunities.
- Turn source material into compelling content: Find the strongest insights, stories, and takeaways in interviews, video clips, and long-form content, then develop them into posts that stand on their own.
- Write a daily newsletter: Select and connect useful insights from the brand's content and relevant industry conversations into a clear, engaging edition.
- Develop a consistent brand voice: Learn the brand's perspective and style, and apply them across social posts and newsletters.
- Manage the content workflow: Organize ideas and assets, draft content, coordinate approvals, schedule posts, and meet recurring deadlines.
- Use performance to improve content: Review engagement and audience responses, identify patterns, and recommend new hooks, topics, and formats to test.
- Keep work moving: Communicate progress, flag missing information early, and bring proposed solutions when challenges arise.
Software/Platforms/Tools:
- LinkedIn and X / Twitter
- Email and newsletter platforms
- Social media scheduling and publishing tools
- Google Sheets and Google Docs
- Slack, Notion, Trello, Asana, or similar project management tools
- Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in content marketing, social media, copywriting, editorial, or a related role,
ideally supporting eCommerce, DTC, business, media, creator, or founder-led brands.
- Deep familiarity with LinkedIn and X, including platform conventions, audience behavior, relevant creators, and how conversations develop.
- A strong portfolio of social posts, newsletters, or other audience-focused writing, with the ability to explain your ideas, creative choices, and results.
- Excellent written English and strong editing, headline, hook, and short-form copywriting skills.
- Demonstrated initiative: examples of ideas you originated, research you pursued independently, or improvements you introduced without being asked.
- Strong research and editorial judgment, including the ability to identify useful angles, verify claims, and distinguish meaningful insights from generic commentary.
- Proven ability to produce a high volume of quality content while maintaining accuracy, originality, and a consistent voice.
- Experience turning video, audio, interviews, or rough notes into engaging written content.
- Confidence sharing recommendations, asking thoughtful questions, and contributing ideas in a collaborative remote team.
- Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage daily deliverables independently.
Shift Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, with approximately 4–5 hours of daily overlap with US business hours for communication, content approvals, and publishing coordination. The remaining working hours may be completed asynchronously. Exact working hours will be agreed upon directly between the contractor and the client.
