An individual could be successful if they possess the following.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Shuttle Driver shall pick up and drop off guests and/or team members at desired locations.Shuttle drivers will create first class hospitality and guest service for the clientele utilizing Oaklawn's Core Values and Standards of Behavior.Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.Safety of passengers and pedestrians are principal responsibilityEnsures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.Greet guests when they arrive and thank them when they leave.Must adhere to all traffic laws and company policiesAssists guests promptly and courteously.Held accountable to the highest degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.Provide shuttle service to and from guest parking lots and team member parking lots.Safety of passengers is principal responsibilityAssist all physically challenged guests enter and exit the shuttle.Presents a clean, neat and well-groomed appearanceMaintain a working knowledge of marketing and special events on property in order to advise guests and fellow team members of same,



whenever possible.Ensure the guests and team members are safely in vehicle before driving and have safely cleared the vehicle when exiting before driving awayMaintains awareness of parking lot activities and reports all issues immediatelyContinues to patrol parking areas looking for guests or team members to pick upInspects vehicle prior to starting shift and ensures that the vehicle is clean and safeStay informed of the company's safety and emergency action proceduresCommunicate effectively with all levels of the Oaklawn team members and guests.Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alikeImmediately report unsafe conditions and team members or guest accidents to a supervisor or SecurityMaintains strict confidentialityMaintain a positive and professional image for the Oaklawn at all times when performing duties or representing the Oaklawn and encourage others to do the sameEnsure the highest quality of guest service is delivered in accordance with Oaklawn's Core ValuesMaintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guestsRegular punctual attendanceAbility to work required overtimeOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSMust be at least 21 years of age.Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving recordMust be able to communicate effectively in EnglishAble to quickly adapt to changing conditionsNeat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygieneAbility to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situationsAble to adhere to and deliver Oaklawn's Core ValuesAbility to work independently with limited supervisionAbility to use hand held 2-way radio in a professional mannerAbility to drive multi-passenger van, bus or shuttleHigh school graduate or GED2+ years previous professional driving experience (i.e. bus, taxi, limo etc.)3+ years guest service experienceSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
Written communication skills in in English may also be required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSEmployee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
