- M&A; Associate (Contractor through Deel)

The M&A; Team supports Compass’ growth through acquisitions and disciplined transaction execution. The M&A; / Corporate Development team at Compass partners with our executive team and business leaders to drive growth and expansion into new markets and new lines of business. As an Associate of Mergers & Acquisitions / Corporate Development based in Latin America (LATAM), you will report to the Senior Manager, Corporate Development and focus primarily on post-close purchase price true-ups and earnouts, while supporting financial analysis, diligence, and closing activities throughout the deal process. You will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively throughout the deal process
- taking ownership of assigned analyses and post-close workstreams, with guidance and review from your manager. You will also support other M&A; and corporate development projects as needed. At Compass You Will:
• Prepare and reconcile post-close purchase price true-ups, including working capital, cash, indebtedness, and transaction expenses, in accordance with acquisition agreements; investigate variances against closing estimates and maintain supporting schedules
• Build and maintain earnout models, track performance against contractual targets,



and prepare earnout calculations and supporting statements, including applicable adjustments, offsets, and payment schedules, for review by the M&A; lead
• Project manage assigned post-close workstreams
- liaising with Accounting, Finance, Legal, acquired businesses, and sellers to obtain information, resolve discrepancies, and meet contractual deadlines; escalate potential disputes and payment issues to the M&A; lead
• Assist with financial diligence, quality of earnings review, valuation models, and closing schedules, including funds flow support, and develop standardized templates for better process management and smoother handoffs to Accounting and integration teams What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and 2–4 years of relevant finance, accounting, or transaction advisory experience; post-close true-up or earnout experience a plus
• Self-starter with a track record of accuracy across financial analysis, reconciliations, and detail-demanding responsibilities
• Strong understanding of financial statements and working capital; ability to translate acquisition agreement provisions into calculations with guidance from the M&A; lead and Legal
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Ability to operate independently on assigned workstreams, exercise judgment, investigate discrepancies, and recognize when to escalate issues for review
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, data reconciliation, and clear, auditable supporting schedules
• Articulate in both verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and sellers, request information, and follow through on outstanding items
• Highly organized; ability to manage multiple deadlines
• High energy and positive attitude
