BYD Argentina

Argentina

Who we are BYD Group is a leading high-tech multinational, based in Shenzhen, China. Operating across four core industries; electronics, automobile, renewable energy and rail transit. As of today, BYD employs nearly one million people worldwide. At BYD, we are redefining the future of mobility. As part of the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle company, we are committed to building a sustainable, zero-emission future where technology and nature coexist in harmony.

About the role
This is a new position. You will build BYD Argentina’s logistics quality function from scratch, covering every vehicle from vessel discharge at the port to handover at the dealer. Today the main issues are body and paint damage and missing accessories. Your job is to design the quality gates, inspection standards and claims process that prevent them, detect them early and recover their cost from the responsible party. You will work hand in hand with the Logistics team: Logistics coordinates vehicle movements, and you own the condition of every vehicle end to end.

Key Responsibilities
Build the quality system
• Map the end-to-end vehicle flow (port, yard/warehouse, PDI, truck loading, dealer delivery) and define a quality gate at each handover point.
• For each gate, define the inspection standard, checklist, acceptance criteria and photo evidence per vehicle (VIN).
• Design the accessories control process (kit list per model, check at each gate, sealing or traceability) to eliminate missing items.
• Write the SOPs, roles and responsibilities for the internal team, logistics providers and dealers.
• Define the digital record of inspections and claims together Logistics. Run quality gates and audits
• Carry out and audit inspections at the port, the warehouse, PDI and dealer delivery, including those done by logistics providers. Damage and claims management
• Take the port’s damage and shortage records at vessel discharge as the baseline and track each vehicle’s condition (VIN) end to end, through to dealer handover.

• Follow up the quality side of every dealer delivery (condition at receipt, damage and missing accessories reports), while the Logistics Analyst coordinates the transport.
• Own the end-to-end claims process: dealer reports, liability determination by gate, and claims to the port, warehouse, transport companies and insurers.
• Track recovery of repair and replacement costs until closure. Provider quality and continuous improvement
• Set quality requirements for the port, warehouse and transport providers; run scorecards and corrective action plans (root cause analysis).
• Monitor KPIs: damage rate per1,000 vehicles by gate, missing accessories rate, claim closure time, cost recovery rate and cost of quality.
• Report results to local management and HQ, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration and training
• Work with Logistics, After-Sales and Sales on dealer quality issues.
• Train providers and dealers on inspection standards and claims procedures. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in quality, with proven experience building processes, inspection systems or claims workflows where none existed.
• Experience in finished-vehicle logistics, port terminals (RoRo), vehicle processing centers, dealer PDI or automotive suppliers (IATF 16949) is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle damage inspection and damage coding standards, claims and insurance processes.
• Foreign trade or port operations knowledge is a plus.
• Advanced Excel; Power BI or similar is a plus.
• Working English, written and spoken (reporting to HQ). What we look for
• A builder: comfortable creating processes where none exist and making them stick.
• Assertive with providers, able to hold them accountable with data and evidence.
• Equally at ease inspecting a vehicle at the port and presenting KPIs to management.
• Structured, detail-oriented and persistent until each claim is closed.
