Overview

We are seeking a PHP Engineer with strong experience building and maintaining production applications. This role is primarily focused on backend development but requires comfort contributing within a full-stack environment when needed.

The ideal candidate brings deep PHP and Laravel expertise, strong API and backend development experience, AWS knowledge, and the ability to make architectural and technical decisions at a senior level.

- Analytics

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using PHP and Laravel. Build and enhance AWS-based services and cloud infrastructure that support the platform.
- Develop and integrate data-driven services, APIs, and third-party integrations supporting:

- Audience engagement
- Data collection
- Segmentation
- Analytics
- Contribute to the React frontend as needed while primarily focusing on backend development.
- Participate in architecture and technical design decisions, particularly around:

- Scalability
- Performance




- Reliability
- Maintainability
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve application performance, reliability, and security. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards. Collaborate with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- At the Principal level:

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers. Help establish development best practices. Help evolve the platform's architecture as the company and user/data volume continue to grow.

Required Qualifications

- Senior/Principal-level PHP engineer with strong experience building and maintaining production applications
- . Deep PHP + Laravel experience. Laravel should be a significant part of their recent development experience.
- Strong backend/API development experience, including designing and building scalable services.
- AWS experience with production applications and infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of React/JavaScript and the ability to contribute to the front end when needed.

Strong understanding of:
- SQL and databases
- REST APIs
- Testing methodologies
- Git
- Modern software engineering practices

Ability to work independently at a senior/principal level. Experience making architectural and technical decisions.

Nice to Have

- Experience working with high-traffic, data-intensive, or SaaS applications.
- Experience with:

- Media platforms
- Advertising platforms
- Audience data platforms
- Marketing technology (MarTech)
- CRM platforms
- Customer engagement platforms




- Experience designing scalable AWS cloud architectures. Strong React experience beyond basic familiarity.

- Automated testing
- Observability tooling
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership or architecture guidance. Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external data platforms.
- Experience working with:
