## Senior Accounting AnalystApply: Hybrid: Buenos Aires, Argentina: Alvear, Santa Fe, Argentina: Full time: Posted Today: JR-202617259**Job Description****Responsibilities*** Perform General Ledger and monthly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP, Argentine accounting standards, GM policies, and internal controls.* Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting working papers.* Identify and analyze accounting risks, unusual balances, and complex transactions, applying sound technical judgment and escalating significant matters when required.* Prepare the conversion of financial information from local currency to the USD functional currency and analyze foreign exchange impacts.* Prepare statutory trial balances, US GAAP-to-Local GAAP adjustments, inflation accounting calculations, and complete statutory financial statements, including notes and supporting schedules.* Prepare statutory and government reports and support filings with IGJ and other applicable authorities.* Coordinate external audit requirements and ensure timely resolution of audit requests and accounting matters.* Execute internal controls and SOX-related procedures, maintaining complete and review-ready documentation.* Partner with Finance, shared service centers, and regional teams to obtain inputs and resolve accounting and reporting matters.* Support process improvement and automation initiatives using data-analysis tools.* Provides direction to a team of individuals with similar functional responsibility* Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements### Required Experience### Mandatory* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) degree.* Strong knowledge of Argentine Professional Accounting Standards.* Proven experience with inflation accounting adjustments.* Experience preparing complete financial statements,



including notes and supporting schedules.* Conversion of financial statements into USD functional currency.* Preparation of financial information for external audits.* Proficiency in excel,**Preferred*** Proven experience in general accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting.* Experience working within complex corporate groups.* Hands-on experience managing month-end close processes under tight deadlines.* Experience with statutory reporting and filings before the IGJ (General Inspection of Justice) or other public entities.* Advanced SAP knowledge, preferably SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI).* Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large volumes of data.* Ability to prepare auditable journal entries and working papers.* Knowledge of US GAAP and reconciliation with Argentine accounting standards.* Intermediate or higher English proficiency to interact with regional teams.* Experience in Big Four* 3-4 years of exprience* Experience with data automation and analytics tools such as Power Query, Power BI, or KNIME (preferred) Google workspace### ### Required Competencies* Ability to independently execute complex activities with minimal supervision.* Strong technical judgment to identify appropriate accounting treatments and assess risks.* Excellent organizational skills and discipline to work within financial close calendars.* Strong attention to detail and focus on internal controls.* Analytical skills to investigate discrepancies and explain variances.* Ability to document processes thoroughly and in an organized manner.* Team player with strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with both accounting and non-accounting teams.GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
