ABOUT THE ROLE:

LoanFlo AI is an active, US platform building AI-native origination software for the mortgage industry. We have live enterprise clients running on K8s infrastructure. We are looking for a Founding Engineer to work directly alongside the Founder.

We leverage AI tools like Cursor/Github to ship features at high velocity, but we do not sacrifice software engineering fundamentals. Your core value is architectural discipline: planning structured prompts, attaching proper context, and auditing every diff line-by-line for security, performance, and tenant isolation before it hits staging.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Full-Stack Execution: Ship end-to-end features across Django APIs and React/TypeScript surfaces following structured technical specifications.
- Architecture & Code Review: Audit AI-generated PRs to prevent tenant-isolation bugs, unoptimized queries, and logic flaws before merge.
- Infra & Security: Maintain Docker builds, read and reason about GKE manifests, and keep staging environments aligned with production standards.
- Technical Ownership: Research complex problem domains independently (reading technical docs, debugging logs, tracing system boundaries) and present clear, actionable solutions.

TECH STACK Python (Django / Django Ninja), React / TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, GCP / GKE, Valkey/Redis, Cursor/Copilot. Prior Experience with web sockets, Voice AI, and prior mortgage tech is a plus.

Requirements:

- Academic Background: B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, Please include university and final average.
- Commercial Experience:



4 years of professional software engineering at a product company or software agency.

Core Skills:

- Django Specialist: Production API development, ORM query optimization, and solid PostgreSQL schema design.
- Modern React: Experience shipping production UI with React/TypeScript.
- Cloud Basics: Practical Docker experience and comfort reading Kubernetes (GKE) or GCP manifests.
- AI-Native Discipline: Daily use of Cursor/Claude/Github with a systematic approach to context management and line-by-line diff verification.
- Communication: Fluent written and spoken English (mandatory for code reviews, specs, and direct founder interaction).
- Execution Style: Exceptional attention to detail, strong alignment with established architectural rules, and high self-direction.

Compensation & Perks

- $18/hr USD Net Monthly Retainer: Paid directly via Wise (RESICO tax regime compliant—you keep ~98% net).
- Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hrs/week, Dedicated) No other jobs allowed.
