About the RoleOur client is seeking a seasoned and results-driven Mine Operations Manager to oversee their significant mining operations near Sandton, Gauteng .
This senior leadership role is responsible for the day-to-day management of all mining activities, ensuring safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
You will lead a diverse team of professionals, from engineers and geologists to frontline supervisors and operators, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This is a pivotal position for an experienced mining leader who can drive performance, manage complex challenges, and contribute to the strategic success of the company's mining portfolio in a key economic hub.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage all aspects of mine production, including planning, scheduling, and execution.Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling costs while maximizing output.Lead, mentor, and develop the mine operational workforce, fostering a high-performance culture.Oversee the maintenance and utilization of mining equipment and infrastructure.Collaborate with other departments, including geology, engineering,



and maintenance, to optimize operations.Report on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with a strong background in open-pit or underground mining .
