We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Carlos, CAAbout the Role:As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes.
You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Details:In-Person Tutoring in San Carlos, CASchedule: 15 Hours per month, 2x a week for 1.25hr sessionsPay range is between $25 and $35Ideal Candidate:Fluent in Japanese and English requiredExperience tutoring or supporting elementary-age students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)Experience working with students with speech delays and/or limited English proficiencyStrong background in foundational literacy, phonics, sight words, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and early writingComfortable supporting early elementary-level math skillsAble to provide language and communication support for a student who primarily understands JapanesePatient, bubbly, energetic, and engaging personalitySkilled at using visual, hands-on, and interactive learning strategiesComfortable providing repetition, modeling, prompting,



and positive reinforcementAble to adjust instruction to the student's developmental and academic levelExperience supporting students with mild frustration-related behaviors is preferredStrong ability to build rapport and create a fun, encouraging learning environmentComfortable incorporating the student's interests, including Minecraft and LEGO, into lessonsKey Responsibilities:Provide individualized academic and language support across ELA, communication, and foundational mathTeach phonics, letter-sound relationships, sight words, decoding, and early reading skillsSupport reading comprehension and vocabulary development through leveled and engaging textsDevelop early writing skills, including handwriting, sentence formation, and written expressionProvide foundational math instruction appropriate to the student's current instructional levelUse Japanese to support comprehension, clarify instructions, and reinforce academic concepts when neededSupport English language development and communication skills through structured conversation and interactive activitiesProvide repetition, modeling, visual supports,



and hands‐on activities to reinforce learningUse positive reinforcement and engaging activities to maintain attention and motivationProvide calm and supportive redirection when mild frustration-related behaviors occurIncorporate Minecraft, LEGO, and other student interests into lessons to increase engagementMonitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's academic, communication, and language needsBuild confidence and encourage active participation through a patient, positive, and engaging approachWhy Tutor Me Education?
