Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Geologist to spearhead their resource estimation efforts, supporting a remote-first operational model.
This senior position involves leading geological teams in defining and quantifying mineral resources with high accuracy and confidence.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust geological modeling and resource estimation methodologies, ensuring compliance with international reporting standards.
This is a critical role for driving exploration success and providing reliable data for mine planning and investment decisions, working from anywhere within a remote framework.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the geological team in developing and maintaining 3D block models for resource estimation.Apply advanced geological modeling and statistical techniques for accurate resource quantification.Ensure all resource estimates comply with relevant international standards (e.g., JORC, NI ******).
Oversee the planning and execution of exploration drilling programs to infill and extend mineral resources.Collaborate closely with mining engineers, metallurgists,
and management to support mine planning and feasibility studies.Mentor junior geologists and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the geological function.RequirementsMaster's degree or PhD in Geology, or a related geoscience discipline with a specialization in resource modeling.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in exploration and resource geology, with at least 5 years in a lead role.Demonstrated expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Micromine, Vulcan).
