Jetpacks! is looking for someone to join our team as a Software Engineer. In this role, you'll be responsible for building a brand-new Food Ordering feature for a concierge-style food delivery platform serving a hospitality and real estate business.

You'll own the web and backend side of the feature, lead the integration with restaurant POS systems (Toast in particular), and jump into the React Native mobile app alongside the mobile team to deliver a smooth, end-to-end ordering experience. Role Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain the backend services and APIs that power the new Food Ordering feature.
- Own the development of the web frontend for the platform.
- Lead the integration with restaurant POS systems, with a focus on Toast (orders, menus, payments, and kitchen workflows).
- Contribute to the React Native mobile app, especially Food Ordering screens and flows.
- Work within an existing codebase and extend current functionality across backend, web, and mobile layers.
- Collaborate closely with the mobile developer to ensure smooth integration across the platform.
- Make sure the feature is stable, secure, and production-ready.
- Participate in kickoff meetings, regular check-ins, and product demos.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on architecture, integrations, and development best practices.

How will you be supported? You'll be onboarded to the tech team organization. You will be part of a team and will communicate with them via Slack and Google Meet. Periodic 1-on-1 meetings will be held to ensure you are successful and are having a productive and enjoyable experience.

- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with solid full stack experience.
- Strong experience with React Native.
- Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience building web frontends with React.
- Hands-on experience integrating with Toast (Toast API / Toast POS).
- Proven experience working with restaurant, hospitality, or food ordering systems.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, REST services, and webhooks.
- Ability to work with an existing codebase and continue development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.
- Advanced English level.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with other restaurant POS platforms (Square, Clover, Lightspeed, etc.).
- Experience working with Supabase.
- Experience with Expo.
- Experience integrating payment systems such as Stripe.
- Experience working on early-stage products or startup environments.
- Experience working in consultative development environments.
