About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Geotechnical Site Engineer to join their team in Sandton . This role involves overseeing geotechnical investigations and ensuring the quality of earthworks and foundation construction for a range of projects across Gauteng . You will be responsible for supervising site testing, interpreting results, and providing on-site engineering advice to ensure ground conditions are appropriately managed and structures are founded on stable ground. Working closely with design engineers and contractors, you will contribute to the foundational integrity of critical infrastructure, operating within a company that emphasizes technical rigor and site safety, offering valuable field experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and conduct geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling and in-situ testing.
- Monitor and control earthworks, compaction, and foundation construction activities on site.
- Interpret geotechnical data and provide real-time engineering recommendations to site teams.




- Ensure compliance with geotechnical design specifications and quality control procedures.
- Liaise with contractors, designers, and laboratory personnel regarding site conditions and test results.
- Prepare site reports documenting geotechnical observations and test results.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical site supervision and investigation.
- Familiarity with various soil testing methods and equipment.
- Understanding of soil mechanics principles and foundation engineering concepts.
- Knowledge of relevant South African geotechnical standards and site investigation practices.
- Strong observational skills and ability to document findings accurately.
