Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Underwriter - Personal Lines to join their prestigious team in Sandton . In this senior capacity, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing risks associated with personal insurance policies, including home, auto, and life insurance. You will play a key role in developing underwriting strategies, setting guidelines, and mentoring junior underwriters. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex personal lines insurance applications, determining risk acceptability and pricing.
- Develop, implement, and refine underwriting guidelines and best practices for personal insurance products.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior underwriting staff.
- Collaborate with product development teams to design new insurance offerings.
- Monitor portfolio performance,



identifying trends and recommending adjustments to underwriting strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external brokers.

Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance underwriting, with a strong focus on personal lines.
- In-depth knowledge of personal insurance products, risk assessment, and pricing methodologies.
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII, IISA) are highly desirable.
