Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Neuquén for Directional Drillers and MWD Engineers. Team members will plan, execute, and monitor directional drilling operations to meet well trajectory and performance objectives, following company and client specifications. Daily responsibilities include operating and optimizing MWD (Measurement While Drilling) tools, interpreting downhole data, and adjusting drilling parameters to ensure safety, efficiency, and accuracy. The role involves collaborating closely with rig crews, company representatives, and other technical personnel, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining equipment to minimize downtime. Directional Drillers and MWD Engineers are expected to adhere to all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
standards and contribute to continuous operational improvement.
Qualifications
- Directional drilling and MWD/LWD operational skills, including tool setup, data acquisition, and real-time wellbore placement.
- Strong technical and analytical abilities for interpreting downhole data, optimizing drilling parameters, and troubleshooting tools and systems.
- Knowledge of drilling engineering principles, wellbore hydraulics, and industry standards related to directional and horizontal wells.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with rig personnel, client representatives, and remote support teams.
- Commitment to HSE practices, risk assessment, and adherence to company and regulatory safety procedures.
- Ability to work extended shifts on-site, in demanding field conditions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Relevant field experience in directional drilling and/or MWD operations; experience in Neuquén basin or similar environments is an advantage.
- Technical diploma or degree in engineering, geoscience, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with industry software and electronic drilling records; basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
- Valid work authorization for Neuquén and a clean driving record suitable for field travel.
