The Communications Assistant will perform various communications tasks, including some of the following:

- save photos and videos in the TNC Peru photo archive and keep it organized
- sorting and distributing mailing for distributing the TNC Peru Newsletter and other Communications pieces
- photographic and audiovisual coverage of events, generate simple posts and videos for TNC Peru's social networks
- develops simple communication pieces (such as flyers, merchandising pieces, one pages and short videos) in digital tools
- working with communications vendors (following-up of contracts and payments, among others)

The Communications Assistant will have frequent interaction with staff throughout the Business Unit programs and in other Conservancy offices, and with vendors. The Communications Assistant must reside in Lima, Peru and is available to travel to different regions of the country. The Communications Assistant does not supervise any staff but may help plan and direct the work of volunteers or interns. Duties are performed according to instructions or established practices; supervisor will resolve any problems or questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, and hard-working, driven the desire of knowledgeable about main digital tools and platforms.

Communications Assistant Responsibilities

The Communications Assistant will provide communications support to the Marketing Area of the Business Unit. This position reports to Peru’s Communications Specialist.

- Maintain updated the communications file both digital and physical.
- Follow-up with vendor in communications, contracts, and other matters.
- Support on internal communications such us the Newsletter, mails, and others.
- Support with logistics of events whenever is necessary.
- Maintain limited financial responsibility, which may include processing invoices, preparing accounting forms, purchasing, or creating travel expense reports.
- Photographic and audiovisual coverage of TNC Peru events or from our partners.
- Develop simple communication pieces, such as flyers, merchandising pieces, one pages and short videos in digital tools.




- Propose and generate simple posts and videos for TNC Peru's social networks under supervision of the Communications Specialist.

What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related fields plus 1-year experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience with Communications programs that are under the Adobe Creative Cloud license and with relevant technology such as Office and Microsoft Suite needed for communications, constructing reports, and managing calendars.
- Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
- Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
- Experience writing, editing, and proofreading written materials.

Desired Qualifications

- Work experience is not necessary, but it will be valued the experience gained in professional internships.
- It will be valued that the candidate has a portfolio of audiovisual works developed during their internships or in an academic context.
- A proficiency command of English.
