About FIDgate

FIDgate builds deterministic, MILP-based techno-economic optimization software for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and hybrid energy projects. Our core engine co-optimizes physical design, dispatch strategy, and project finance metrics across thousands of candidate configurations giving developers and investors reproducible, auditable outputs they can defend in front of a lender, not a black-box estimate.

About the role

We're looking for a fractional CPTO to take ownership of FIDgate's technical and product execution, working closely with our core engineering team (based in Argentina) and reporting directly to the CEO.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can be both the technical decision-maker for our engineering roadmap and the product owner translating pilot-customer feedback into what gets built next.

You'll join at a pivotal moment: we're moving from a founder-and-contributor-built core engine to a structured engineering organization, with senior platform and core engineering hires joining alongside you. Your first mandate is continuity and ownership sitting with our existing contributors, taking real ownership of the codebase and critical path, and building the foundation our platform.

Requirements

- 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Product/Engineering) at an early-stage or scale-up software company; fractional or interim experience is a strong plus
- Comfortable owning both technical architecture decisions and product roadmap prioritization — this is a combined CTO+CPO mandate, not a pure engineering-management role
- Experience leading distributed,



contractor-based engineering teams — coordinating scope and ownership across contributors who join and leave over time, and running real knowledge transfer rather than losing it
- Strong Python background; comfortable owning architecture decisions for an API first product
- Experience with, or a strong ability to quickly get fluent in, optimization systems, mathematical modeling, or other deterministic engineering software — this is not a role for someone whose background is primarily ML/AI product
- Experience translating customer or pilot feedback into clear, prioritized product requirements
- Comfortable operating in a resource-constrained, early environment, contractor-based team, evolving scope
- Fluent Spanish required, for daily coordination with our core engineering team in Argentina; English is our primary working language for product, investor, and partner-facing work
- Renewable energy, project finance, or industrial engineering background is a strong plus, not required
