Our client invests in real estate opportunistically and is currently renovating a historic hotel in San Diego.

Our client is looking for someone to help purchase furniture and decor for a hotel renovation project. This role focuses on items that need to be bought from websites, not custom-made pieces or built-in carpentry. You will work under the supervision of a purchasing manager.

This is a short-term, intensive project, estimated to last about one month. However, there is potential for ongoing work if the candidate performs well.

Responsibilities of the role:

- Create spreadsheets for all furniture items, one by one.
- Check if items are within budget.
- Verify if lead times meet project needs.
- Contact different websites for information or to place orders.
- Research similar or equivalent furniture options.
- Communicate with the purchasing manager about findings and potential issues.
- Follow instructions from the purchasing supervisor.

Required Experience and Qualifications:





- Experience purchasing furniture for commercial use, ideally for hotels.
- Ability to create and manage spreadsheets.
- Strong online purchasing skills.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read English websites and write emails in English.
- Ability to communicate by phone in English.
- Must be able to work intensively and quickly.
- Must be intelligent and adaptable.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in interior design or procurement.
- Experience purchasing furniture specifically for US-based vendors.
