Caters Media Group is looking for an experienced Journalist based in Argentina to join our international editorial team.

We specialise in finding and telling real stories about real people , from extraordinary experiences and inspiring individuals to unusual lifestyles, relationships, families, transformations and incredible moments.

This is not a political news role.

A key part of this role is story sourcing. You won’t simply be given stories to write – you’ll be expected to actively find compelling people, stories and footage across social media and other online sources.

Once you identify a story, you’ll need to track down and contact the person who owns the footage or story, build a relationship with them and convince them to work with Caters and sign an agreement allowing us to represent their content.

You’ll be targeting content primarily for the US market, so you’ll need a strong instinct for the human-interest stories that engage American audiences.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume role, requiring you to source and secure multiple quality stories every day.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively source a high volume of original human-interest stories and videos

Search social media and online platforms to identify compelling content and emerging stories

Identify and contact the original owner of footage or content

Approach potential contributors professionally via social media, email, phone and other channels

Explain how Caters works and secure signed contributor agreements

Build rapport with contributors and confidently encourage them to work with Caters

Interview contributors to uncover the full story behind their content

Research and verify stories, footage and information

Write accurate,



engaging copy for international media

Identify stories with strong potential for US audiences

Work efficiently to daily sourcing, signing and editorial targets

What We’re Looking For

Qualified journalist

Minimum 2 years’ professional journalism experience

Excellent written and spoken English

Proven experience sourcing original stories, contributors or user-generated content

Confident approaching people and building relationships with potential contributors

Strong communication, interviewing and persuasion skills

Comfortable explaining agreements and securing contributor sign-ups

Excellent news judgement and a natural instinct for a strong human-interest story

Proven ability to handle a high daily volume of leads and stories while maintaining quality and accuracy

Strong understanding of social media and how to find original content and its owner

Understanding of US audiences and culture

Experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom, content agency or similar environment

Highly organised and comfortable working to daily targets
