How the work is done
We are a growing AI company. We are in growth mode and we see the opportunity. not a big company. This shapes the role in two directions. The surface is wide: search, paid, organic social, community, influencer relationships, and AI answer visibility all under your responsibility. In exchange you own the whole funnel and you will see your decisions in the numbers within weeks.
You will not execute all of it alone. We expect to buy in specialist help and tools where needed - paid search and paid social management, technical SEO audits, design, and video production. Your job is to own the strategy, direct that work, and personally execute the parts that cannot be handed off: the content and answer pages, the community presence, and the relationships.
Every statement we publish about a child’s health goes through clinical and medical review before it goes live. Our Chief Medical Officer, our clinical team, and our genetic counselor are that review, and they are close at hand. You do not need a clinical background. You do need the habit of checking rather than assuming, and the patience to write a marketing claim three times until it is both useful and true.
What you will own
Five areas, in the order a parent encounters them.
1. Search and AI answer visibility
• The organic search program: the questions parents actually ask, the pages that answer them directly and in plain language, and the technical foundation that makes those pages fast, crawlable, and stable.
- AI answer visibility, sometimes called AEO or GEO: structuring our content so AI-assistants can retrieve it, keeping our public entity information accurate and current, and building credible third-party corroboration so the version of FDNA living inside these systems is the correct one.
- Measuring where we appear across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and AI Overviews, and reporting it honestly. Nobody can guarantee that an assistant will mention us, and we will never claim otherwise. What you can do is make us eligible, useful, and worth citing.
- Our public `llms.txt` and structured data, kept accurate.
1. Paid acquisition
• Google Ads and paid social: strategy, budget allocation, creative direction, landing pages, and the weekly decisions about what to keep and what to kill.
- Cost per qualified family, measured to a real product event rather than to a click.
- Privacy-safe measurement. Health-adjacent pages are sensitive surfaces. A tracking pixel placed carelessly on one is a legal problem, not only a technical one. You will work with our engineering and legal reviewers on what is allowed to fire and where.
1. Social presence and community
• Organic presence across the channels where families gather - Reddit and Facebook parent and advocacy communities first, plus Instagram, TikTok,
or YouTube shorts as the content program supports them.
- Active participation. You will post under a transparent identity (FDNA), follow each community’s rules, and contribute more than you promote.
- LinkedIn and X for FDNA’s professional presence: company news, evidence and thought leadership, conference commentary. This is a different audience and a different type of content, where clinician-facing messaging about Face2Gene follows clinician-facing rules and review.
- Moderation and escalation. Parents will ask for medical advice in the comments and in direct messages. You will own the response protocol that answers helpfully, while staying within our regulatory lane.
1. Influencer, creator, and advocacy relationships
• Finding and building relationships with the people families already trust: parent advocates, rare-disease and developmental-pediatrics educators, genetic counselors who create publicly, and advocacy organizations.
- Running that program properly: written briefs with approved claims, verified credentials, clear disclosures, consent and privacy boundaries for family stories, and a review path before anything is amplified.
- Treating this as a relationship business. The value compounds over weeks, months and quarters, and it does not survive being run as a media buy.
1. Measurement, content operations, and review
• The funnel from first click to assessment start, completion, report generated, and report shared with a clinician - instrumented, reported weekly, and read honestly.
- Engagement quality, measured over volume: shares, thoughtful comments, qualified clicks, sourced clicks.
- The content calendar and production pipeline, including whatever you direct to contractors.
- The claims library and the review workflow: what we are allowed to say, where it is sourced, and who signs off before it publishes.
Your first six months
Horizon
What we expect
First 30 days
You have listened before you have talked. You can describe, from real observation, the questions parents ask and the words they use, which communities matter, and where families currently get good and bad answers. You have audited our current search, social, and AI-answer footprint, and produced a prioritized plan with a first set of experiments running.
By three months A working content and answer-page program is publishing on a cadence, with clinical review built into it rather than bolted on. Paid acquisition has a measured cost per completed assessment, and you know which channels earn their budget. You are a recognized, disclosed contributor in at least two communities, with a posting history that shows it.
By six months A parent searching a developmental concern, or asking an AI-assistant about one, has a real chance of finding something we published that genuinely helps. Family acquisition has a predictable, measured funnel that we can turn up or down deliberately.
We have a short list of trusted advocates and creators who know us and would answer the phone. The foundation is documented well enough that a second person could be added to it without starting over.
What we are looking for
Required
- Three or more years in digital, growth, or performance marketing, including at least one channel you owned end to end and where you can show a number you moved.
- Hands-on SEO and content. You have built pages that earn organic traffic and you can explain why they worked. You are comfortable with search intent, site structure, and page performance.
- Hands-on paid search. You have personally run and optimized a Google Ads budget. You know what a bad account looks like from the inside.
- Real community participation. You have posted under your own name in online communities and you understand the difference between contributing and broadcasting. If you have earned trust on Reddit, say so and show it.
- You treat health-adjacent data as sensitive by default. You know that what fires on a page about a child’s development is a legal question, and you will raise it rather than assume someone else has.
- Comfort being the whole function. For the first stretch you are the strategy, the execution, and the reporting. You will direct contractors, and there is no team under you on day one.
Recommended
- AI answer visibility experience under any of its names - AEO, GEO, LLMO, AI search. This discipline is two years old, so evidence of doing it thoughtfully counts.
- Marketing in healthcare, or in another regulated or high-stakes category where claims are reviewed before publication.
- Experience running an influencer or creator program with proper disclosure of material connections, per FTC guidance.
- Analytics depth: Google Analytics, Search Console, event instrumentation, and enough comfort with data to answer your own questions without waiting for a report.
- Short-form video and visual content, either produced yourself or directed well.
- Familiarity with pediatric, developmental, rare-disease, or genetics communities, or a personal reason to care about this problem.
- You have directed agencies, freelancers, or contractors and got good work out of them while staying on budget.
- You have built something from nothing - a channel, a content program, a community - and can walk through what you did first, second, and third.
- Experience at a small company, where the plan and the execution are the same person.
About FDNA
FDNA builds on a simple observation: the information a family already has - what they have noticed, what they have photographed, what runs in the family - is clinically useful if someone organizes it properly.
Face2Gene is clinician-facing differential decision support for rare disease. It helps clinicians review phenotype findings, organize symptoms and HPO terms, consider syndrome possibilities and prioritized genes, and prepare documentation for referral, testing, and follow-up. Our AI stack includes DeepGestalt, FeatureMatch, and GestaltMatcher.
Family Health Checker is parent-facing and non-diagnostic. It helps families answer health and family history questions, provide photos for phenotype review, and produce a clinician-ready summary that makes the next visit more productive.
