The Role

As a Technical Product Manager at BRIGHTSCOUT, you'll decide what gets built and why, then make sure it actually ships. On accounts where the client has their own product team, you'll partner with them to translate their vision into a backlog our engineering and design teams can execute against. On accounts where they don't, you'll be that product team: setting direction, making the calls a client's own PM would make, and representing their business goals inside every planning conversation.
This is a hybrid role by design. Some weeks you're closer to a Product Manager, working the vision, roadmap, and stakeholder tradeoffs. Other weeks you're closer to a Product Owner, writing acceptance criteria and keeping a sprint on track. You'll move fluidly between the two, and know which one a given moment calls for.

Responsibilities
- Product Vision, Client Partnership & Backlog Ownership
- Act as the acting product lead for clients without an in-house PM, building a working command of their business, users, and market deep enough to make credible calls on their behalf.




- Translate ambiguous business goals and stakeholder input into a clear product vision, roadmap, and prioritized, sequenced backlog — grooming it by user value, dependency, risk, and effort.
- Run or support discovery and requirements gathering alongside our Solutions and Delivery teams, turning findings into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria the team can execute against.
- Represent the client's product interests in internal planning, and represent technical and delivery realities back to the client, in both directions; present roadmaps, tradeoffs, and progress in plain language, holding the line on scope when priorities exceed what a sprint or budget can support.
- Review completed work against acceptance criteria and accept it into the baseline — you're the team's quality gate for whether the work meets the intent, not just the ticket.
