We are looking for a Lead UI Technical Artist to define the visual systems, materials, and motion language that unify a game UI experience across platforms in Unreal Engine. You will build high-polish, performant UI tech art foundations and mentor UI artists while collaborating closely with UX/UI partners.
Responsibilities
- Define the UI tech art systems, materials, and motion language that other UI artists build on
- Craft polished and performant UI tech art solutions using materials, UMG, animation, FX, lighting, blueprints, and camera tools in UE4/5
- Build consistent visual patterns for motion, FX, UI transitions, scale, and proportion
- Design reusable templates, thematics, and principles that guide forward-looking UI production
- Plan cross-platform adaptation strategies that balance fidelity and performance targets
- Own UI tech art tooling and asset management practices to keep workflows scalable and consistent
- Create animated transitions and cinematic camera moves using Sequencer and related tools




- Develop material functions and modular systems that enable efficient iteration across UI surfaces
- Tune real-time lighting and post-process techniques to support mood, readability, and clarity
- Implement hover states, micro-interactions, and motion details that improve UI feel
- Profile and optimize shaders, textures, and VFX to meet performance budgets
- Collaborate with UX and visual design partners to translate intent into shippable technical execution
- Mentor UI artists and visual designers through reviews, guidance, and best practices

Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist, UI Tech Artist, or VFX Artist in games
- 5+ years of hands-on Unreal Engine experience with UE5 Material Editor and Niagara
- 5+ years of experience building UI motion and transitions using Sequencer or similar tools
- 5+ years of experience creating real-time VFX, materials, and optimized shaders for interactive UI
- Proven leadership experience
