About the role

We're looking for a Tableau Product Manager to lead the BI platform of a large-scale technology organization specialized in data and AI. The client's Tableau deployment operates at enterprise scale: roughly 80,000 monthly active users and 15,000 publishers across the organization.

The team is also extending Tableau with AI capabilities: Tableau MCP, custom Tableau skills, and the AI agents Tableau is shipping. This person will be responsible for governing, scaling, and evolving the platform, acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering.

Responsibilities

- Own Tableau's content architecture: published data sources, permissions, the publisher lifecycle, and overall platform governance.
- Diagnose and fix dashboard performance issues: slow extracts, inefficient queries, and workbook design problems.
- Define and enforce best practices for a large community of content authors, including building the enablement material that goes with them (documentation, training, guides).
- Anticipate demand from different business functions building in Tableau, rather than only responding to tickets reactively.
- Explore and implement integrations with Tableau MCP,



and build or deploy Tableau skills and agent integrations.
- Act as a translator between business and engineering, pulling the real problem out of a conversation.

Requirements

Must have

- Deep working knowledge of Tableau as a platform, not only as a dashboard tool: content architecture, governance, published data sources, permissions, and the publisher lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with dashboard performance tuning (extracts, queries, workbook design).
- Experience defining and enforcing best practices across a large community of content authors, including enablement.
- Understanding of what different business functions build in Tableau, and the ability to anticipate future needs.
- Familiarity with Tableau MCP and experience building or deploying Tableau skills or agent integrations.
- Strong communication skills: able to translate business needs to engineering and vice versa.
- Availability to work Pacific Time hours with meaningful daily overlap with the client team.
- Located in the America.
- Professional English, spoken and written, at a level that holds up in stakeholder meetings.

Nice to have

A Tableau certification carries significant weight in this process. A certified candidate will be prioritized over an equivalent profile without one. Without a certification, the profile has to prove seniority another way.
