About the Company (FactFinder)
FactFinder is a media and training company founded by Gisela Pérez de Acha, an open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigative journalist. Gisela received a Polk Award for her work on Frontline's American Insurrection
, was part of an Emmy-winning New York Times team, and created and taught a pioneering open-source investigations course at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism.
Through
FactFinder, she teaches journalists and researchers digital forensics, which she describes as "CSI, but on the internet." Very few people in the world teach this, and demand is growing fast. FactFinder is six months old, serves a primarily US audience, and is expanding into Spanish-language programs. Its long-term vision is to become a publishing platform for independent investigative journalism.
Summary of Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a full-time, bilingual Social Media Manager & Video Editing Producer to turn Gisela's classes, podcast and recordings into content that grows FactFinder's presence on Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
This role exists because content is FactFinder's bottleneck. Gisela records a lot of material, but most of it never gets edited or published, and her audience can't grow while she does everything herself. This person will take that work off her plate and make the brand visible to the market that is already looking for what she teaches.
The ideal candidate is experienced, driven and a genuine nerd: someone who loves technology, goes deep on complex topics and is factual by instinct. They will attend Gisela's class once a week, learn the company's culture and material in depth, and spot the moments worth turning into content: "This part of the class is great. Let's make a reel out of it." They propose, not just execute.
As FactFinder's first hire, they will work closely with Gisela and have a real opportunity to grow with the business into a partner-level role.
Role Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Ideation (Primary Focus)
- Attend Gisela's class once a week, learn the material and FactFinder's culture in depth, and identify the strongest moments to turn into content
- Propose content ideas proactively, including authority-building explainers that make complex investigative techniques clear and engaging
- Build and organize a content library from recorded classes and raw material
- Define how content works bilingually so it feels natural in both English and Spanish, including for upcoming Spanish-language programs
- Track performance on each platform and adjust the approach based on what drives growth and presence
Social Media Production and Editing
- Produce 2–3 pieces of content per week (reels, carousels, photo posts) from classes, podcast episodes and Gisela's recordings
- Write the scripts, hooks and captions for each piece in English and Spanish
- Edit videos with an internet-native, meme-aware style: strong hooks, sound and effects that stand out from typical tutorial content
- Design carousels and graphics in a consistent visual style
Podcast and YouTube
- Edit a biweekly 15-minute podcast and tutorial episode (single-camera, horizontal format) for YouTube, with a high-energy opening and closing around the tutorial segment
- Cut reels and shorts from each episode
- Write titles and descriptions and manage the publishing schedule
Cross-Platform Repurposing
- Adapt the best-performing Instagram content for LinkedIn (visuals, carousels, quote graphics) without rebuilding it from scratch
- Support Gisela's LinkedIn presence with visuals and formatting, while she writes her own posts
Collaboration
- Work closely with Gisela, bringing ideas and recommendations rather than waiting for instructions
- Coordinate with the existing freelance video editor when needed
Tools Used in the Role
- CapCut or other video editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut)
- Design: Canva or Adobe (Photoshop / Illustrator)
- Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube (including YouTube Studio and platform analytics)
- iPhone-recorded footage and screen recordings
- AI tools for transcription, clipping and scripting

Requirements
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, spoken and written, at a native or near-native level
- 3+ years of experience in social media management, video editing or content production
- Strong video editing skills for social media (reels and shorts) and podcast (YouTube)
- Strong scriptwriting and copywriting skills in both languages
- Ability to learn complex technical subjects quickly and explain them simply
- Self-directed and driven, with the initiative to propose ideas and see them through
