We are looking for a Senior UI Tech Artist to define the technical art systems, materials, and motion language that unify and elevate UI across a game experience. You will create polished, performant UI tech art solutions in Unreal Engine and mentor UI artists while balancing visual fidelity and platform performance.

Responsibilities

- Define UI tech art systems, templates, thematics, and principles for forward-looking UI

- Craft highly polished and performant UI tech art solutions using materials, UMG, animation, FX, lighting, Blueprints, and camera tools in UE4/5

- Build consistent visual patterns for motion, FX, UI transitions, scale, and proportion

- Establish a cohesive motion language that unifies UI behavior across screens and states

- Plan UI tech art approaches across platforms to balance visual fidelity and performance

- Own UI tech art tooling and asset management to improve team efficiency and consistency

- Create animated transitions and cinematic camera moves using Sequencer and related tools

- Implement spatial and diegetic UI solutions that blend 3D and UI through framing and post-processing

- Optimize shaders, materials, textures, and VFX to meet performance targets

- Profile runtime performance and diagnose bottlenecks in UI rendering and effects

- Partner with UX/UI and visual design to add technical polish such as hover states and micro-interactions

- Mentor UI artists and visual designers through reviews, best practices, and reusable patterns

Requirements

- 3+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist, UI Tech Artist, or VFX Artist with UI/front-end game experience

- Proven mentoring experience supporting UI artists and visual designers

- Strong cross-platform planning skills balancing fidelity and performance constraints





- Advanced Unreal Engine 5 skills including Material Editor, Niagara, and Blueprints

- Expert Sequencer knowledge for animated transitions and cinematic camera moves

- Strong material system skills including material functions/systems and shader logic

- Advanced UV math skills for precise material and texture workflows

- Strong real-time VFX skills for UI motion, FX, and transitions

- Solid real-time lighting skills including post-process techniques for mood and atmosphere

- Strong performance profiling skills including optimization of shaders, textures, and materials

- Strong motion design skills including timing, easing, and micro-interactions for UI

- Excellent collaboration skills to elevate established UX/UI designs with technical polish

- Comfort with ambiguity in exploratory work to find the right feel for a screen or moment

- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2, Upper-Intermediate)

Nice to have

- Experience building reusable or modular VFX and material systems across large UI surfaces

- Background in cinematics, trailer production, or environmental mood and lighting design

- Familiarity with UMG and how UI logic interacts with materials and VFX systems

- Experience applying AI assistants to speed up iteration, documentation, or asset workflows

- Deep familiarity with gaming UI conventions and player interaction patterns
