Job Description:

Accountable for leading the safe delivery of the El Alto Project through all levels of study work, critically assessing every aspect of the proposed development, including technical, economic, financial, legal, political, social and environmental considerations, establishing the viability of the Project and leading the team, progressing it from the current scoping work through pre-feasibility and into feasibility, and into execution. The role leads the owner's team and the EPCM across both sides of the Chile-Argentina border and owns the integrated study schedule, including the drilling campaign, metallurgical test work, resource model update, mine planning, trade-off studies and the PFS/FS.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver the feasibility study and lead construction readiness with visible safety leadership, embedding Barrick's safety culture across all project teams, contractors and study partners.
- Ensure scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility study work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and in scope.
- Conclude study information and outputs into an overall project business case for investment committee consideration.
- Own the integrated project schedule, monitor activities, and manage deviations directly with the team and raising to steerco where necessary.
- Ensure appropriate governance and assurance structures are in place and effective to guide the study, including stage gates and independent third-party reviews.
- Safely delivering maximum value through orebody knowledge, while ensuring a sustainable business plan
- Own the integrated project schedule, ensuring drilling, metallurgical test work, resource model updates, geotechnical work and mine planning feed the study on time,



and that key permitting milestones in both countries are met.
- Effective management of key external stakeholders in both Chile and Argentina, in line with project expectations, timelines and Company Values.
- Identification of Project risks and the implementation of effective mitigation strategies, with particular focus on cross-border logistics, legacy infrastructure and equipment, and metallurgical uncertainty.
- Effective cost control / capital management, including ownership of the study budget and development of the capital estimate.
- Implement quality control processes to ensure study and site activities adhere to industry standards and project specifications.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of team performance and progress to plan, and presentation of results to management / SteerCo.
- Build and lead the owner's team (project controls, engineering, technical services and geology) and manage the EPCM and specialist consultants.
- Manage and report on performance within the project team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
- Employing a process driven approach to study whilst leading with a sense of urgency.
- Leading multiple personnel and consulting teams across two jurisdictions to deliver required targets.

Qualifications:





- Appropriate bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology or a related discipline; project management qualification desirable but not required.
- Ten (10) years' relevant experience delivering complex mining growth projects and studies (PEA, PFS and FS) with multiple consultancies and stakeholders.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, written and spoken.
- Ideally based in Argentina or Chile. Candidates based elsewhere must bring demonstrated South American experience delivering growth projects through the study cycle.
- A proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, with a high attention to detail.
- Able to manage and oversee the full project lifecycle, with a focus on identifying risks and establishing risk mitigation processes, including management of EPCM contractors and owner's teams.
