Job Title: Resident Engineer Updated: September 3, 2026 WORKING PLACE / Americas - Remote COUNTRY / Argentina, Buenos Aires area DEPARTMENT / Professional Services Reports to / Delivery Manager TYPE OF CONTRACT: Contractor General purpose: The Resident Engineer is an embedded Professional Services technical resource who owns day-to-day administration, monitoring, and support of Verimatrix products deployed in client's infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud (AWS) environments.

You are also engaged in the delivery of the Services to update and maintain the systems deployed for the customer.

Acting as the primary point of contact for all technical related subjects, planning, tasks and incidents , this role coordinates closely with client stakeholders and internal teams to keep systems stable, secure, and available.

As a successful Resident Engineer, you are proactive, creative, communicative, and structured.

As a strong critical thinker, you are able to anticipate questions and issues that customers and partners may encounter. You are meeting the customer on regular basis and as required, and share regular reports on the on-going activities .

You are curious about new tools and cutting-edge technologies to increase team efficiency.

You excel at creative troubleshooting and problem solving and you can survey a deployment from a whole system perspective or focus on the minute details to architect successful solutions, answer customer questions, or solve the most challenging problems, all while maintaining a customer focused attitude and composure in high pressure situations.

Main responsibilities: Act as the Verimatrix on-site/embedded point of contact for day-to-day support, incident diagnosis, and escalation management at the client location.

Administer and maintain Verimatrix products (OS, database, database) including (re-)configuration, patching, and full lifecycle management across the on-premises and cloud-hosted Verimatrix systems.

Monitor system performance, investigate incidents using application logs and Amazon CloudWatch metrics, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinating remediation with relevant teams.

Develop and maintain automated log analysis, environment assessments, and other recurring administrative tasks, reducing manual effort across the support pipeline of the Verimatrix solutions Coordinate and execute patch deployments, installations and upgrades, System Acceptance Tests, documentation of the Systems, regular technical status reporting to customer, Maintenance Windows and Acceptances of Verimatrix solutions running on AWS-hosted infrastructure (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc …) or on-premise Identify, document, and present project risks during planning and implementation phases, and proactively advise on risks or mitigation or resolve the issues.

Advise the best breakdown of large, complex, complicated, mission‐critical projects into smaller actionable phases to help reduce risk and guarantee success for all stakeholders.

Support customer with backend system integrations on the Verimatrix solutions (e.g.

Subscriber Management System,



Middleware, Packagers, applications or devices, etc …) Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity of the Verimatrix Solutions.

Manage and prioritize tickets through ITSM platforms (e.g., Zendesk), tracking SLAs and following formal incident/change/release management procedures (ITIL).

Build and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders, gathering technical requirements and coordinating and executing deployments aligned with the client's release cycles.

Meet customer on-site on regular basis, and/or in regular calls.

Generate reports on the on-going activities Share technical knowledge and skills throughout the department and company by creating knowledge base articles, best practices, documentation, and training materials.

Document process applicable to the PS team.

Qualifications & Skills: This position requires strong communication and organization skills, and hands-on experience administering Linux and Windows based solutions and infrastructure, working in AWS cloud , On-Premises systems, and/or hybrid environments, and automating operational tasks .

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field Equivalent hands-on professional experience is usually accepted in lieu of a degree, especially for candidates with 5+ years in support/implementation roles AWS Certified Solutions Required: Strong customer-facing skills , and ability to communicate verbally and in writing complex technical solutions to stakeholders, ability to defend your recommendations with professionalism and diplomacy Ability to travel to customer site on regular basis, and as required.
- 5-8 or more years of Linux or *NIX systems administration experience in high-demand, high-availability environments utilized by database-driven applications. 5-8 or more years of high-availability network administration and troubleshooting experience with Cisco, Juniper, F5 Networks, or Foundry switches, routers, load balancers, SMS, encoders and packagers Scripting experience (Bash, Ansible, Ruby, Perl, or Python ) SQL database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or similar. Solid understanding of AWS cloud infrastructures Experience doing on-site incident diagnosis , patch deployment coordination , log analysis , and root cause analysis (RCA) in live production environments Familiarity with ITSM tools and formal incident/change/release management processes (ITIL); experience tracking work against SLAs.

Ability to maintain a "whole system" perspective even when exposed to different deployment types, systems architectures, network topologies,



and vendors with each problem or solution being addressed. Ability to thrive in a self-directed environment where solutions are sought out rather than pre-packaged. Ability to contribute to multiple concurrent subjects and meet tight deadlines with a significant workload in high-ambiguity, high-volatility environments that demand adaptability and a strong sense of urgency. Advanced critical thinking , problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail and ability to think in systems. Proven ability to maintain a professional, positive, "can-do" attitude , poise under intense pressure to perform with extreme reliability. Strong t eam player mindset with clear and fair communication Ability to effectively interface with other departments, across all levels of the organization and with technology partners and potential partners and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Proven experience with leading and documenting technical discussions with customers and partners and presenting when required. Ability to maintain confidentiality and assist on sensitive matters with discretion.

Fluent in both English and Spanish Preferred but Not Required: Previous broadcast experience with IPTV or Internet streaming technologies, cable, satellite broadcast for live and on-demand video content. Understanding of broadcast network interoperability from Head-End to Home Subscriber Familiarity with Conditional Access or Digital Rights Management (DRM) experience with Windows Media DRM, RealNetworks Helix, Apple Fairplay, Adobe Flash Access, Marlin, Widevine, Conax, Nagra, NDS, Irdeto, etc. Systems administration certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalent. Experience with security protocols, server hardening techniques, cryptography, PKI, SSL/TLS. Network and log server monitoring experience with SNMP, Syslog, Wireshark, Nagios, Icinga, etc. Video standards such as: DECE/Ultraviolet, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC, H.264, MPEG-DASH, HTTP Live Streaming, Microsoft Windows Media / PlayReady, Apple HLS, Marlin and RTSP. Previous vendor and/or reseller management and international relationship management experience across one or more cultural regions.
