Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Medical Interpreter Spanish<>English at Kalamcx.

The Medical

Interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between Spanish-speaking and English-speaking patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a virtual environment. Daily tasks include performing consecutive and simultaneous medical interpretation, ensuring meaning and tone are preserved, and using appropriate medical terminology. The role also involves sight translation of medical documents, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards,



and documenting interactions in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.

The interpreter will collaborate with clinical and support teams to improve patient understanding, safety, and overall experience.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting between Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in Translation and sight translation of medical and patient-related documents.
- Solid knowledge of Medical Terminology in both Spanish and English.
- Capability in Simultaneous Interpretation for medical consultations and urgent interactions.
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening and speaking skills.
- Prior experience in healthcare or medical settings, in-person or remote, is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of interpreter ethics, patient confidentiality, and cultural competency principles.
- Comfort with remote work technologies, including secure communication platforms and documentation tools.
- Relevant certification in medical interpreting or formal training in interpretation is preferred.
