About the Position As a Remote Medical Scribe, you will collaborate closely with onsite physicians and clinical staff in documenting patient encounters and creating detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR). Virtual scribes accompany physicians virtually during patient visits, ensuring that all relevant medical information is accurately recorded. This role is crucial for maintaining precise patient documentation and supporting clinicians in providing high-quality care.
This role focuses on multiple specialties and is based all over the US. Janie offers performance RAISE, health allowances, PTO, incentive bonuses, and annual off‑site events for our remote team members.
Primary Responsibilities - Documenting Patient Encounters: Accurately record patient history, symptoms, physical exam and provider notes and recommendations during consultations.
- Updating Electronic Health Records (EHRs): Enter and maintain patient data in EHR systems, ensuring it’s complete and up-to-date each visit.
- Assisting with Administrative Tasks:
Help manage and organize patient records, appointments, and other documentation as needed. Help the doctor or APP navigate imaging portals, controlled substance databases and various office documents and Google Drive.
- Ensuring Accuracy and Confidentiality: Maintain high standards of accuracy in documentation and uphold patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinating with Healthcare Providers: Communicate effectively with doctors and other medical staff to clarify any details, obtain additional information, send referrals or orders, and schedule follow-up visits or procedures.
- Handling Medical Terminology: Understand and accurately use medical terminology and abbreviations in documentation.
- Adhering to Guidelines: Follow office policies and procedures for documentation.
