About Matific
Matific is a fast-growing, AI-first global EdTech company delivering a world-class, research-driven mathematics learning platform for schools. Used by millions of students, teachers and families in over 70 countries, Matific empowers learners through interactive, adaptive and pedagogically rigorous digital experiences.
Recognised internationally for excellence, Matific has received top industry honours including the GESS, Global Edtech Prize, CODiEs, Academics' Choice, and EdTech Digest awards.
With over $50M USD invested and a global team of 200+ employees, Matific operates as a modern SaaS organisation - leveraging AI, data, and adaptive learning technology to help schools and ministries improve outcomes at scale. Our mission is to deliver equitable access to high-quality mathematics education and to support meaningful systemic improvement worldwide.
Matific has already proven that governments and institutions across LATAM and Caribbean are willing to invest in adaptive, curriculum-aligned mathematics learning at scale. Some of the largest deployments in the company's history have been in the region, demonstrating the opportunity that exists when the right relationships are in place.
Now, the opportunity is even bigger.
Across LATAM, ministries of education, provincial and state governments, school networks, and multilateral organisations including GPE, the World Bank, UNICEF, and the IDB are actively investing in proven numeracy solutions through new budgets, education programs, and financing cycles.
The mandate is also broader than mathematics. Mathematics remains Matific's anchor, but the platform's curriculum extensions - most notably financial literacy - open funding routes that sit outside conventional education procurement: non-traditional public-private partnerships, multilateral grants, central bank financial education and financial inclusion programs, and bank and corporate CSR budgets. For the right person, that means additional buyers and additional budget lines behind the same institutional relationships.
The Role
As Vice President,, Strategic Growth LATAM + Caribbean you'll own the LATAM region, working alongside and leading an existing team, a high-agency role to build and convert a pipeline that spans government, multilateral, and enterprise opportunities across the region, and to lead a high-performing team as it grows.
You'll work at the level where deals actually get made: ministers, vice-ministers, secretaries of education, school network leaders, and country directors at UNICEF, the World Bank, and IDB. If you already move comfortably in these rooms, this role gives you an evidence-based solution to accelerate foundational learning and drive real, measurable impact on student learning across the region
You'll also own Matific's Strategic Market Entrances across the region - the small number of high-impact vehicles capable of unlocking an entire jurisdiction at once: nationwide publishing groups, telcos, and large-scale distribution consortia with the reach to carry Matific into a whole country or state system.
This is partnership at the level of market access, not channel management; you will not be running reseller tiers or managing distributors day to day. You'll partner closely with Matific's Global Director of Strategic Partnerships and CEO plugging LATAM-specific relationships and market knowledge into a company-wide government and multilateral playbook that's already working in other regions.
As Matific's senior regional presence for government, multilateral, enterprise, and strategic market entrance business development, you'll play a central role in shaping the company's growth across LATAM.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate incremental government, multilateral, and enterprise opportunities beyond Matific's existing LATAM pipeline.
- Use your existing network to secure first meetings and executive access, and lead the relationship all the way through to signature
- Open non-traditional funding routes for Matific's curriculum extensions, particularly financial literacy - central bank financial education and inclusion programs, bank and corporate CSR budgets, multilateral grants, and public-private partnerships that sit outside standard ministry procurement
- Represent Matific externally across the region: government meetings, multilateral forums, education conferences and ecosystem events
- Lead commercial negotiations from first conversation through to signed agreement structuring deals (pilot-to-scale pathways, licensing models, procurement routes) that work for government, institutional, and enterprise buyers alike
- Own Strategic Market Entrances for LATAM - identifying, negotiating and structuring the high-impact market entry vehicles that unlock entire jurisdictions: nationwide publishing groups, telcos, large-scale distribution consortia, and comparable institutional alliances
- Identify and prioritize opportunities tied to active financing cycles - ESA/PEDP-style national plans, GPE grants, World Bank/IDB-financed education programs where Matific can be positioned as the numeracy solution of record
- Feed market and relationship intelligence back into Matific's global government and multilateral BD function to sharpen positioning, pricing and proposal strategy
- Build your own net-new pipeline first, working alongside existing account owners on current flagship relationships; take on broader ownership of the region's key accounts as you establish a track record
- Lead and coach the LATAM BD team to elevate regional success
What Success Looks Like,
- A qualified pipeline of LATAM government, multilateral, and enterprise opportunities beyond the current flagship accounts, with clear next steps at each stage
- Trusted,
recurring access to decision-makers at two or more ministries of education and at least one multilateral country office
- One or more Strategic Market Entrances signed or underway - a publishing group, telco or distribution consortium that opens a jurisdiction Matific could not reach directly
- At least one funded opportunity originated outside a ministry education budget - a central bank program, a bank or corporate CSR commitment, or a multilateral grant supporting numeracy or financial literacy
- A repeatable regional playbook for converting relationships into structured, commercially sound agreements
Requirements
Must-haves
- An existing, active network across LATAM ministries of education, provincial/state education authorities, and/or multilateral institutions (UNICEF, World Bank, IDB, GPE)
- A track record of closing sales or partnership agreements with government, institutional, or enterprise buyers, ideally in education, edtech, or another sector with long, relationship-driven sales cycles
- Strong commercial instincts: comfort structuring deals, negotiating terms, and converting goodwill into signed, revenue-generating agreements
- Native fluency in Spanish, with genuine cultural and professional credibility across at least two major LATAM markets. Portuguese is a plus
- Self-direction: comfortable owning a territory with limited day-to-day oversight and building a pipeline largely through your own relationships and judgment
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience in EdTech, education policy, or public-sector procurement
- Fluency in Portuguese
- Familiarity with multilateral financing mechanisms (GPE grants, World Bank/IDB loan-financed programs) and how they translate into procurement opportunities
- Exposure to financial literacy or financial inclusion programming - central banks, banking associations, development finance institutions, or corporate CSR and foundation funders
- Existing relationships tied to active national or provincial education reform programs in the region
- Experience representing a company at government or multilateral forums and conferences
- People management experience
Location
Buenos Aires, Argentina (strong preference), with Mexico and Colombia highly valued among other regional locations for exceptional candidates.
Compensation
Competitive base salary with a commission and incentive structure tied directly to closed contract value in B2G and multilateral deals and to sign high-level institutional alliances. Variable earnings are driven by the value of what you sign at ministerial, multilateral and institutional level - not by account volume, and not by channel or reseller throughput.
Benefits
- A business with a strong purpose to provide quality education to children globally
- A fast-paced environment, fast-growing SaaS company
- Work with ministries of education, leading high-profile integral publishers and partners
- Work closely alongside seasoned, successful entrepreneurs
- Opportunity to innovate and challenge the status quo
- Great remuneration package with significant upside potential
