Synply is building the software and payments platform for the syndicated lending market an industry still run on spreadsheets, PDFs, and email. We're an early-stage fintech company on a mission to modernize how banks and lenders originate, manage, and settle syndicated loans.

About the Role

We're hiring our first Head of Applied AI to define and build Synply's AI strategy from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be an early individual contributor who quickly grows into building and leading a small team. You'll split your time between shipping AI-powered features that customers touch directly and building internal AI tooling that makes our own teams faster and sharper.

You'll work closely with the CTO/Head of Engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to identify where AI creates real leverage in a document-heavy, workflow-intensive industry like syndicated lending and then build it.

What You'll Do
- Define Synply's applied AI roadmap,



balancing customer-facing product features with internal productivity tooling
- Design and ship AI capabilities embedded in the core product (e.g., document understanding, data extraction, workflow automation across the syndicated loan lifecycle)
- Build internal AI tooling to improve efficiency across engineering, sales, and operations
- Evaluate and select the right models, frameworks, and vendors for each use case, balancing accuracy, cost, and speed
- Establish evaluation frameworks and quality bars for AI features, especially where financial data and compliance are involved
- Hire, mentor, and grow a small applied AI team as the function scales
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to prioritize AI investments against the broader roadmap
- Stay current with the fast-moving AI landscape and translate relevant advances into practical, shippable ideas for a fintech context
