We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in AWS to join our team. As an AWS Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer, you will increase visibility into cloud spending by developing a data-driven approach to alerting, reporting, and optimizing cloud costs. The right candidate will have hands-on experience in DevOps or SRE, possess deep experience working on cost analysis and optimization in large AWS environments, have a passion for data analysis, and be a team player who can collaborate with others across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software development and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities that maximize ROI on cloud resources and improve overall cost efficiency
- Gain a thorough understanding of the client's product, its architecture, and deployment within the cloud, along with the associated costs for each component of the environment
- Advise architects and engineers on architecture and resource optimization, waste reduction, capacity management, and KPI development




- Monitor cloud spending to identify cost increases and usage anomalies, investigating the root causes behind them
- Track utilization of cloud reservations and savings plans, working with teams to reallocate freed-up capacity
- Analyze data patterns and anomalies to generate insights that support strategic and operational decision-making
- Identify savings opportunities related to cloud commitment purchases (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot Instances, Committed/Sustained Use) and monitor their utilization
- Pinpoint areas of inefficiency and develop actionable plans for optimization
- Build, update, and maintain cost and utilization reports, dashboards, and automated alerting and forecasting tools
- Implement dashboards and automated reporting systems to track cost compliance
- Contribute to the creation, refinement, automation, and governance of cost optimization policies and best practices
