UGC Engineer - The Viral App The Viral App is a growth agency that helps mobile apps scale through creator-led content. We produce hundreds of UGC videos per month across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts for app companies worldwide. Our clients range from early-stage startups to apps with millions of downloads.

We're looking for UGC Managers to join our team. This is not a content creation role. You won't be on camera. You'll be the person behind the scenes who finds the right creators, briefs them, manages the relationship, and makes sure every video is on-brand, on-strategy, and delivered on time.

What You'll Actually Do

Your day-to-day revolves around three things: scouting creators, managing production, and analyzing what works.

Creator Scouting: You'll spend time on TikTok and Instagram identifying creators who are the right fit for each client. Not just anyone with followers. You need to find creators whose audience, style, and content naturally align with the app you're promoting.

You'll evaluate engagement rates, average views, posting frequency, audience demographics, and content quality. You need to know the difference between a creator with 50K followers and 0.5% engagement versus one with 20K followers and 6% engagement, and why the second one is almost always the better pick.

Production Management: Once a creator is locked in, you own the entire production cycle. You'll write detailed content briefs that include hooks, second-by-second structure, key messages, visual references, dos and don'ts, and a clear CTA. You'll send outreach messages to creators, negotiate rates, handle contracts, review drafts, request revisions, and ensure final delivery meets quality standards.

You'll manage multiple creators across multiple clients simultaneously. Organization is not optional.

Performance Analysis: You'll study viral UGC content in your clients' verticals to understand what's working and why. Not surface-level observations like "the video looks nice" or "good hook." We need you to identify the psychological mechanisms that drive virality: curiosity gaps, identity-shifting, pattern interrupts, aspiration triggers, social proof loops. You need to understand how the TikTok and Instagram algorithms reward specific content behaviors (save rate, rewatch rate, share-to-story rate, profile visit rate)

and connect those mechanics to business outcomes like downloads and sign-ups.

Who This Role Is For

You don't need a marketing degree or prior UGC experience. Some of our best managers came from retail, hospitality, admin, and operations backgrounds. What matters is how you think and how you work.

We care about these traits:

Meticulousness. This job has a lot of moving parts. Creators across different time zones, briefs with specific requirements, revision cycles with tight deadlines, multiple clients running at once. If you're the kind of person who lets details slip, this isn't for you. If you're the kind of person who tracks everything, follows up without being asked, and catches errors before they become problems, you'll thrive.

Platform nativeness. You need to genuinely use TikTok and Instagram. Not as a passive scroller, but as someone who notices trends, understands why certain formats blow up, recognizes creators by style, and can tell when a piece of content is performative versus authentic. If someone asks you "what's working on TikTok right now for fitness apps," you should be able to answer with specific examples, not generic advice.

Analytical depth. When you watch a video that got 2M views, you should be asking yourself why. What was the hook structure? What emotion did the first 3 seconds trigger? How did the creator build retention through the middle? What made people share it? We need people who think in mechanisms, not aesthetics.

People skills. You'll be managing creators who are real people with egos, schedules, creative preferences, and sometimes difficult attitudes. You need to be able to give direct feedback without damaging the relationship, push back on bad work without being confrontational, and motivate creators to deliver their best. If a creator sends a bad video for the third time, you need to know how to handle that conversation.

Experience in any people-facing role (sales, customer service, hospitality, account management, teaching) is a strong signal.

Operational discipline. You deliver on time. Your work is organized. Your briefs are clean. Your messages are professional. You don't need to be reminded about deadlines. You don't submit work with typos, broken links, or missing sections. You treat every deliverable like it represents you.

Written English fluency. All client communication, creator outreach, content briefs, and internal documentation is in English. You need to write naturally and professionally, not like a translator. Spoken English matters too. You'll be on calls with English-speaking creators and clients. If your English sounds fluent on paper but breaks down in live conversation, it won't work.

What We Value

We'd rather hire someone with zero marketing experience who demonstrates deep analytical thinking, genuine platform knowledge, and strong people instincts than someone with a perfect marketing resume who delivers shallow, surface-level work. Your background matters less than how your brain works.

We've seen candidates with impressive CVs in UGC and influencer marketing deliver the most superficial analysis in our evaluation process, while candidates from retail, admin, and operations roles delivered work that showed real strategic depth. Don't self-select out because your resume doesn't look "marketing enough."

How We Evaluate

Our hiring process includes a practical task. You'll be given a real app and asked to:

- Identify 5 creators who'd be a good fit, with full engagement data and reasoning
- Write a complete content brief for one of them
- Draft an outreach message to that creator
- Analyze 3 viral UGC videos in the app's vertical and explain why they worked

This task is designed to test exactly the skills described above. There's no trick. We want to see how you think about creator selection, how detailed your briefs are, how natural your outreach sounds, and how deep your viral analysis goes. The benchmark is high. We're looking for people who go beyond the minimum and show us their process.

Details

- Remote-friendly, with preference for candidates in Mendoza, Argentina (hybrid option available)
- Contractor position
- Tools we use: Notion, Slack, TikTok, Instagram, Google Drive

If this sounds like something you'd be great at, apply. Show us how you think.
