- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as theboard of education may find appropriate and acceptable REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL AND CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean,and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
- Dust and clean furniture and fixtures on a daily schedule.
- Keep wastebaskets empty and clean.
- Clean chalkboards on a scheduled basis.
- Report to the custodial supervisor and building principal any acts of vandalism, anyevidence of deliberate or excessive littering, and any behavior by students that is demeaning tothe custodian.
- Clean and sanitize all restrooms, sanitary fixtures, and drinking fountains on a daily basis.
- Keep grounds free of rubbish.
- Promptly report needed major repairs.
- Operate various floor care equipment, high and low speed buffers, carpet shampoo machines,and vacuum cleaners.
- Safely operate lawn equipment.
- Remove snow from entrances and sidewalks.
- Replace light tubes and bulbs in fixtures.
- Operate laundry washer and dryer*.
- Perform laundry duties maintaining sports uniforms, sports towels, kitchen towels, shop rags,custodian rags, and mop heads*.
- Operate swimming pool equipment and maintain related records*.
- Set up equipment for activities including sports, academics, social meetings,



and programsboth school and non-school related.
- Assume responsibility for building security at all times.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the custodial supervisor or buildingadministrator.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Wage and length of employment to be establishedby the board of education.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance withprovisions of the board's policy on evaluation of supportservices personnel.
