JCMM Social is hiring a Lead Video Editor with 4 or more years of professional editing experience including time inside an agency or production company, prior experience leading or mentoring other editors, expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro, and advanced Adobe After Effects covering motion graphics, VFX, and typography, plus advanced color correction, white balance, sound design, and audio mixing. A link to your portfolio or reel is required to be considered, along with a 4K-capable editing machine, 25 Mbps or better upload speed, strong command of US English grammar, and availability for full-time hours that overlap US Central Time daily.
About Us
JCMM Social is a creative agency that specializes in production and social media. We produce video for clients in dental, legal, medical, wellness, and professional services. Our editors work from real footage shot on real gear, with strategy and hooks written before the camera turns on. We are small, intentional, and we hire people who care about the craft.
The Role
You will do two things: cut great video, and make every other editor on the team better at cutting great video. The split is even.
50 percent managing the editing team and hitting department goals. Training, reviewing edits, giving feedback, and the admin work that keeps a department running. You are the person the editing team goes to. You will assign work, hold the quality bar, catch problems before an account manager or a client does, run the review pass, and keep the pipeline moving so nothing sits waiting on a decision.
50 percent editing. You own the hardest and highest-stakes work in the pipeline. Most of it is short-form vertical for social. Some of it is longer: testimonials, brand pieces, and interview footage that needs to be cut down and often repurposed into shorts. If you want a seat where you only touch a timeline, or only touch a spreadsheet, this is not it. This is not a role we can train from scratch either. We need someone who has already done this inside an agency, at volume.
Day to Day: Editing (50%)
- Cut short-form vertical video for every major social platform, our primary deliverable, sized and specced for wherever it runs
- Edit longer pieces including testimonials, brand videos, and interview footage, and cut them down for distribution when the project calls for it
- Handle complex nonlinear timelines: multicam, layered audio, nested sequences, mixed frame rates and formats
- Color correct and white balance so every video from a shoot matches, including footage shot in log
- Build sound design and mix to a professional standard: levels, cleanup, music, and effects
- Create motion graphics, VFX, and typography
- Work across 10 or more client brands at once, holding each brand's distinct look and voice
- Deliver finals for review and turn revisions fast
Day to Day: Managing the Team (50%)
- Serve as the point person for the editing team: assignments, questions, blockers, and escalations
- Review other editors' edits and give clear, specific notes they can act on
- Train editors and get new ones productive quickly
- Own our editing standards: export specs, naming conventions, project structure, template libraries, delivery checklists
- Hit department goals for output, turnaround, and quality, and know where the numbers stand without being asked
- Manage the editing pipeline so every task has an owner, a due date, and a current status
- Balance workload across the team and flag capacity problems before deadlines slip
- Handle the admin side: tracking assignments and hours, keeping the boards current, reporting status and risks to leadership

Who We HireWe are looking for good people who do great work. These are not negotiable:
- Accountability. You own your work and your team's. When something is late or wrong, you say so first and bring the fix with you.
- Honesty. Bad news travels fast here, and that is a good thing. You tell us the real status, not the comfortable one.
- Initiative. You see the problem and start solving it instead of waiting to be told. You bring ideas to the table.
- Team player mentality. You make the editors around you better. You share what you know and you do not hoard the good projects.
- Positive attitude. Deadlines get tight and notes get vague. You stay steady and keep the room in good shape.
Compensation$1,500 to $2,500 USD per month, depending on experience. Paid in USD. The rate is set and paid in USD, so the peso figure moves with the exchange rate.
Full-time contractor. LocationRemote. Philippines or Latin America. Must overlap US Central Time daily.

Send a link to your portfolio, with short-form vertical work among them, and tell us which parts you personally edited. Please also let us know what size of team you have personally managed and the total monthly deliverables you have personally overseen delivery on for that team.
