About The Role

We are looking for a Python Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and reliable healthcare software solutions.

You will work primarily on backend development using Python and FastAPI, building APIs, data models, integrations, and business logic while collaborating closely with frontend engineers and other stakeholders.

Because our products handle sensitive healthcare information, you will also contribute to systems where security, privacy, permissions, and auditability are critical.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.

- Build robust data models and database interactions using PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Pydantic.

- Manage database schema changes and migrations using Alembic.

- Develop and maintain integrations with external platforms, including Salesforce REST APIs, webhooks, and Platform Events.

- Implement secure authentication and authorization flows, including integration with AWS Cognito and external identity providers through OIDC/SAML.

- Work with role-based access control (RBAC) and case-level permissions.

- Ensure appropriate handling and protection of PHI (Protected Health Information) and support HIPAA-compliant practices.





- Implement and maintain audit trails for sensitive operations and data access.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

- Develop unit and integration tests using pytest.

- Collaborate with frontend engineers working with TypeScript, React, and Next.js to deliver end-to-end features.

- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.

- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to improving system reliability and performance.

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience with Python.

- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs with FastAPI or a similar Python framework.

- Experience with React and/or Typescript.

- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.

- Experience with SQLAlchemy and Pydantic.

- Experience managing database migrations with Alembic or similar tools.

- Experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with third-party integrations.

- Good understanding of software testing and experience with pytest.

- Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth/OIDC, JWT, RBAC, or similar technologies.

- Experience working with cloud-based applications and services.

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, and API design.

- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.

Nice to Have

- Experience with AWS Cognito.

- Experience with OIDC/SAML federation and external Identity Providers.

- Experience integrating with Salesforce APIs, webhooks, or Platform Events.

- Experience working with HIPAA, PHI, or other healthcare data privacy requirements.

- Experience implementing fine-grained permissions or case-level access control.

- Experience working with audit logging and compliance-related requirements.

- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, or React Testing Library.

- Experience with Playwright, Vitest, or React Testing Library.

- Previous experience working in HealthTech, MedTech, or other regulated environments.
