Senior Legal & Compliance Manager

Our client is a multinational pharmaceutical company with operations across multiple countries and a strong international presence. The company is seeking a Senior Legal & Compliance Manager to join its Latin American team.

The position will have a multi country scope, supporting operations across multiple Latin American countries and working closely with business teams and senior leadership. This is a highly strategic role, requiring a strong understanding of business needs and the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while providing practical, business-oriented solutions that enable sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

(i) Legal

- Lead complex supplier negotiations by partnering with the business and providing legal counsel to support high value transactions;

- Provide legal support to all areas, ensuring proper legal guidance on legislative, regulatory, and contractual matters across multiple legal disciplines, balancing legal compliance with business needs and risk management;

- Provide legal support for agreements and collaborate with other attorneys, business partners and subject matter experts globally, regionally and locally;

- Work closely with relevant business partners to understand their needs and advise on legal and contracting issues, ensuring that the company agreements meet business needs and that risks have been identified and mitigated;

- Effectively provide and coordinate legal support in the above areas, by demonstrating independent initiative, contributing as a member of cross-functional teams, and collaborating with business and Law Department colleagues on key matters;





- Support on harmonizing and delivering Latin America regional training materials, best practices and internal guidelines regarding roles and responsibilities for contracts;

- Manage the litigation in the responsible countries; and

- Manage external law firm

(ii) Compliance

- Manage and continuously enhance the Compliance Program across the countries under the position's responsibility, with a focus on the prevention, detection and response to compliance risks;

- Implement and manage the Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Program, acting as the Data Protection Officer (DPO);

- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on matters related to ethics, integrity and regulatory risks;

- Conduct due diligence on vendors, business partners and third parties, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements;

- Develop and implement Compliance training programs for employees, third parties and business partners;

- Prepare executive reports, monitor Compliance KPIs and continuously review the regional risk map;

- Ensure the inclusion of Compliance clauses in contracts and conduct due diligence on third parties and suppliers;

- Monitor changes in the applicable regulatory environment and industry codes, translating these developments into updated internal policies, procedures and controls;

- Review and approve interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organizations (HCOs), ensuring compliance with applicable laws, internal policies and industry codes;

- Perform Compliance monitoring activities and define, implement and track Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)



plans to address identified compliance gaps and assess their effectiveness;

- Act as the primary regional point of contact during regulatory inspections and internal or external audits, coordinating timely and appropriate responses; and

- Foster a strong speak-up culture and manage ethics reporting channels, contributing to awareness and implementation of the Code of Conduct across the region.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Law;

- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in Legal & Compliance;

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with previous experience within Legal & Compliance departments of pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies highly desirable;

- Solid experience with complex commercial agreements and Corporate/Commercial Law;

- Experience with Compliance, ethics and integrity programs, including third-party due diligence, training, monitoring and risk management;

- Experience in multinational environments and regional roles, with the ability to collaborate effectively with general, regional and local teams;

- Fluent English, B2 level,

- Spanish proficiency;

- Proficiency in digital tools, particularly Microsoft Office;

- Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and results orientation;

- Strategic mindset, with strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory matters into practical business solutions;

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership and teamwork skills;

- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives and business leaders;

- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize multiple demands and simplify complex matters; and

- Commitment to high standards of ethics, legal compliance and integrity, as well as the ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
